Please join Tracey & I for the Hill Country Heritage Longhorn Sale September 9th & 10th Coming off of a great sale last fall, we have high expectations of making this one even better. Our consignors have really dug deep into their pastures and brought us cattle with the wow factor. From a cow that was 80" as a four-year-old down to a smoking set of heifers, we have cattle for everyone. We have added sale ring lights to help showcase the cattle as they go through one of the best Longhorn sale rings in the industry. The 8' entrance/exit gates seem to be the perfect ticket for Longhorn cattle. Our covered pavilion was enlarged, more permanent pens and runways were added. It just keeps getting better. Staying with consignment discounts from last season, if you consign a 75" or better cow, we will waive the $350 consignment fee, comp your Friday night hotel room and also give you a full page catalog ad to advertise your consignment. Preliminary numbers before we go to catalog, it looks like 15-16 consignments over 75" TTT. This was a nice boost for us last year, we found out that we are not the only ones that like big horned cattle. Professionalism - Joel Lemley and Dale Hunt will be working the sale ring. These guys have quickly become the "go to" team for a Longhorn sale. They are both long time breeders and know pedigrees better than most. You will be hard pressed to find a team that can present your offering and work with bidders to get to the true value of what is in the ring. It is a major plus for both sellers and buyers to work with this team and their services extend well past the sale ring. Their support staff will get your registrations and monies due in your hands quickly after the dust settles. If you ever had a doubt, then at some point – you will realize you are dealing with the best of the best. We will start the excitement with our Heifer Sale on Friday night at 6:00 PM and follow it up with a catered meal (Mamacita's Restaurant) and a barn dance (Country Jim's All Stars) right after the sale. This band consists of a variable group of touring musicians. Wayne "Animal" Turner is Hank Jr's guitar player when he tours. They (six band members) all have left deep tracks in the country music industry. Once they start, you just can't get them to stop. They do it because they love it. There will be an open bar throughout the event. Saturday’s Sale will start off with breakfast tacos and a 10:30 AM starting time and Tracey’s famous Frito pie, made with lean Longhorn meat at midday. Recap - One Weekend, Two Sales, Free Meals, Free Open Bar, Live Band, no Gate Fee and no charge for Transit Cattle. It has always been our ranch policy not to price or sell any cattle during a consignment sale. Our consignors support us and we support them as well. It is a simple concept, Money spent on sale day will be to purchase consigned cattle - everything else is included. We belong to and support all of the associations and we welcome all of their members. But, this is a time when we all leave our politics at the gate and let the party begin, don't miss it!
Rick & Tracey Friedrich
PS: Purchase cattle via Hired Hand online bidding and you can leave them at the River Ranch up to 30 days until your able to pick them up (no charge) or we can bring them to the Horn Showcase (Lawton, OK) or the Longhorn Extravaganza (Oklahoma City) also at no charge.

Breeding: Exposed to RR Sweet Brindle Dust from 4/1/16 to 7/10/16. Comments: ZD Delta Slick’s Petite is an older brood cow with a great pedigree. She is a Salida Slick daughter and strong Butler influence on the dam side. She is walking proof that her genetics were a good cross. But she is high maintenance. She is not a fighter, she is scared of you and doesn’t want to be penned. She’s a kicker. With that being said, we can sell her (or not) with a clear conscience. She has produced some great progeny Consigned by: and she is a big time milker. We just weaned a nice heifer from her that was born Rick & Tracey Friedrich 3/23/17 and the heifer is puppy dog gentle. So, it was beneficial for us to own her. She bred back faster than most and is due with a SBD calf between 1/8/17 and 2/7/17. She River Ranch is still putting on the horn. She has grown an inch in the last year, making her 81 1/4“ TTT on 5/1/16. She has had all of her shots, you don’t have to work her for another year
