Facilitating a Spiritual Connection

By Jobnel Tineo

Men’s Ministries brings experience, curriculum and logistics to the 70 Spanish churches that report active men’s ministries. These churches conduct programs that instruct, inform and warn about contemporary trends for men.

We are the second conference to achieve certification from the North American Division Men’s Ministries Leadership Certification program. This certification course was designed by the North American Division to equip local church leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead out in men’s ministries in their communities.

The first Sabbath of September is Men’s Ministries National Prayer Day. For several years now, former Men’s Ministries | Spanish coordinator Sergio Rodriguez wrote the sermon churches used for that day.

The annual Men’s Ministries | Spanish retreat sees up to 800 men attending. During the retreat, an offering is collected for international projects and disaster relief.

In our six geographical areas of the Texas Conference, we coordinate breakfasts for men and offer training and curriculum to those participating.

We also offer a resource for helping people who struggle with certain addictions. Very soon, once it is translated from English to Spanish, every church in the Texas Conference will have a copy of Joshua’s Men: Mentoring Men for Spiritual Leadership Leader’s Guide. Available in English at AdventSource.org, this guide is the most comprehensive curriculum for implementing small groups for men. Created by Tom Grove, Texas Conference Men’s Ministries | English volunteer coordinator and associate director for Ministry & Evangelism, it was designed to equip spiritual leaders for

ministry. “The local church needs to have leaders who will lead in their homes, in their workplaces, in their communities, and in their churches,” says Grove.

Texas Conference Men’s Ministries | Spanish believes, “We do not set up a program; we facilitate a spiritual connection with God.”
