Step back in time at Tewkesbury’s Historic Old Baptist Chapel

Records show that a Baptist congregation has been in existence in the town since 1623 and continue to meet in a modern building in Station Road.

However, the fellow- ship would however welcome any visitors as they step back in time for this occasion of wellknown carols and readings in this historic setting.

Church, who are organising the event, express their thanks to the John Moore Museum, part of the Abbey Lawn Trust.

They have lovingly restored the building to be welcoming and com- fortable for visitors. gaps. Thankfully enough new members came forward to fill the gaps to ensure we are able to carry on for the future and it is always good to have fresh ideas.

Everyone who attends will be able to explore the chapel and learn about its history as they share in a cup of mulled wine and a mince pie following the service.

A wonderful display was put together showcasing the amazing quilts, crafts and paintings produced by some of our very talented members.

Jo Hiorns from ‘Simply Flowers’ demonstrated how to make a door wreath that can be completely composted after use. We expect to see wreaths hanging on our members’ doors.

We will be finishing 2022 with a Dickensian Christmas, followed by a bring and share on the 14th December.

We are a very friendly group and would love to welcome you to our meetings which take place on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Wheatpieces Community Centre starting at 2 pm.
