15448 Harper-Thiel Phase II Building Rehabilitation

Originally built in 1917 as the Delaware Chemical Engineering Company, this industrial complex of buildings is cited as Delaware’s example of Masonry/Colonial Spanish Revival style industrial building. Shuttered in 2000, the complex has undergone a rigorous environmental remediation process by DNREC and was purchased by the Developer.

Tevebaugh worked closely with the developer to restore and preserve the original historic structure and seamlessly integrate a new brewery and pizzaria into the beautiful shell. The project is the site of Wilmington’s first production brewery in over 60 years.

The program includes indoor seating as well as an outdoor front patio looks over Haynes Park. From the street, passersby will see the stainless steel fermentation tanks in the front windows. Located in an area of the city with little to no nightlife or restaurants, and directly adjacent to the Northern Delaware Greenway Trail, the pizzeria and brewery provide a valuable amenity for the community.

Integral to the 114 key Hyatt Place Hotel and Riverfront Events Center, this bar, restaurant, and lounge provide guests an welcoming and vibrant place to enjoy time together.

16636 Wilmington Riverfront Hotel and Banquet Center

The Tevebaugh studio joined with regional developer The ONIX Group to create the new 86,000 SF Wilmington Riverfront Hyatt Place and Banquet Center. The project sits on the beautiful Wilmington Riverwalk, adjacent to the renowned Big Fish Grill.

The full-service hotel features premium Hyatt amenities and accommodations, including 114 total guestrooms, a bridal suite, fitness center and restaurant.

The modern aesthetic chosen for the architecture of the Wilmington Riverfront Hyatt Place and Banquet Center is a homage to this site’s historic shipbuilding past. The façade is comprised of masonry and glass design elements, with exposed structural steel accents. These architectural design elements, along with the historic industrial river crane on the adjacent Riverwalk will serves as a beautiful backdrop to the events in the Riverfront Events 250 seat banquet center, ante-room, and gallery.

Facade replacement study and design to reinvigorate an existing shopping center facade into a vibrant solution that balanced constructability with tenant branding.

22027 Broomall Commons Façade Renovation

These facade improvements are part of a larger project by Urban Edge to reinvigorate Broomall Commons, a shopping center just outside Philadelphia. Tevebaugh referenced materials and lighting elements used for adjacent facade improvements to develop a design which is cohesive with the rest of the commons, yet distinct to the future tenant of this shell space.

Iterative color and pattern studies were reviewed with the client and future tenant to develop the final design, which conceptually ties the facade back to Nemours Childrens Hospital, Delaware, and achieves a bright and welcoming entry fitting of a pediatric health care clinic.

Early Schematic Visualization of the Project

A speculative development project ulitizing valuable tools during the design phase like visualizations, design/build techniques, and efficient cost and construction analysis 18027 Concord Office Building

A 60,000 SF, ground-up, speculative development that utilized design/build efficiencies with the Buccini Pollin Group and BPGS Construction. The developer secured Marlette Funding as the single tenant for the building in the midst of Tevebaugh’s design phase.

Tevebaugh worked closely with the development team to optimize the flexibility of the footprint in conjunction with the usable square footage of the floor plates.

The shell and core design developed by the team includes custom metal-work surrounds in the masonry fenestrations, as well as an intricate and subtle juxtaposition of varying metal panel thickness and colors on the primary facade.

The early project visualizations and design were valuable marketing tools utilized by the landlord in the process of marketing the property to potential tenants, as well as eventually securing the lease with Marlette. The project is scheduled for occupancy in 2021.

Since its creation in 2016, the original Mill Space co-working fitout on the 4th floor of the Nemours building in downtown Wilmington has seen exponential growth and success. Tevebaugh teamed up with BPG and The Mill to lead the design team through construction documents and construction administration for the Mill’s expansion to the 7th floor.

This latest phase will serve three private tenant suites that will share common core services between them. Each of the tenants enjoys the security and privacy of dedicated co-working areas for the respective teams, while also benefitting from co-located common core elements that are available to each of the tenants on the floor.

Chesapeake Utilities approached Tevebaugh Architecture to create a vision for consolidating the operations of four separate offices, two storage facilities, a maintenance and materials supply yard, and a compressed natural gas filling station onto a new 20-acre campus in Dover, Delaware.

A comprehensive design solution to integrate office space, operations, and warehousing.

15453 Chesapeake Utilities, Energy Lane Campus

The result was a new flagship facility for their companies that included a 55,000 SF modern office that prioritized daylighting and flexibility. The offices of each company were supported by a common conferencing center, an employee fitness center, a new 36,000 SF warehouse, a 10,000 SF vehicle storage facility, and the region’s first compressed natural gas vehicle filling station. The project featured innovative and sustainable natural gas technologies, and achieved Green Globes Certification for its approach to sustainability, health, and wellness.

The new campus houses 250 employees, and the new workspace plays a primary role in the company’s recruiting and retention efforts for their employees.

The College of Health Science is the first University program to move to the new STAR (Science, Technology and Advanced Research) campus. The program includes outpatient treatment facilities, such as physical therapy and health care services. It also houses human mobility labs, classrooms, and faculty offices.

The design focused on orienting visitors to easily navigate the large facility, providing a color palate that provided both interest and serenity, and meeting the technical needs of the approximately 400 staff members and daily users of the facility.

The Widener University Academic building is designed in the classical architectural motif to blend with the iconic nature of the campus. This, along with an intense building program – comprised of a main lecture hall, classrooms, labs, health services, faculty offices, and The Oskin Research Center – made it challenging to design to LEED’s sustainable design criteria. The first integrated effort was in site selection. The building’s site is located in the center of campus, readily accessing multiple public transit and campus bus stops.

The Southeast building renovation project will achieve the College’s vision of creating an innovative, state-of-the-art Allied Health Center of Excellence (AHCOE) for the campus’ health programs.

With this investment in renovations and relocations, the new AHCOE will be home to the College’s allied health programs including surgical tech, paramedic, medical assisting, and more.

More than 62,000 SF of renovations to classrooms, science and simulation labs, student lounges, and the main conference center were the areas in focus. The project encompasses renovating an existing 40,000 SF of space within the existing Institute at Pelleport to optimize operations, refresh interiors and mechanical equipment, and consolidate multiple practices that were previously remote into a single facility.

Re-envisioning the 1950’s facility that had last been renovated in the 1990s was a monumental planning and design task for the Tevebaugh Architecture design team. The outstanding results of the project speak volumes about how contemporary outpatient medical suites can successfully be designed within traditional and neoclassical building envelopes.

The newly envisioned facility accommodates suites for OB/GYN, physical therapy, cardiac testing and rehab, family practice, nutrition, and behavior health.

by Nemours to provide Sports Medicine Physician Services, Imaging (X-ray), Cast room, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Athletic Training, NeuroCom-concussion, and and indoor track lane.

This new complex will also support a variety of sport competitions such as youth basketball, soccer, volleyball, lacoss, and football with three full-sized professional basketball courts, two indoor turf soccer fields and a world-class sports performance and training area.

South Facing Elevations

The W. L. Gore Early Learning Center, located on the Appleton Campus in Elkton, Maryland, was designed to serve 114 children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Our team worked closely with the owner, W.L. Gore Associates, Inc. and the daycare provider, Bright Horizons, to develop a plan that matched the vision of the owner and the performance specifications of Bright Horizons.

The site orientation provides south light for all the classrooms and separation of vehicular, service and play areas. There is an inviting entry courtyard and generous outdoor play area.

Bright and inviting early childhood learning center for the benefit of the associates at W.L. Gore

The building is easy for both adults and children to use. Each classroom has custom casework specifically designed and sized to meet the needs of the adults and the children occupying the space. The bright, well-lit classrooms are located on the south sides of the buildings, while administrative and service areas are on the north side.

Two “bump-outs” off the corridors and a centrally located multi-purpose room provides a variety of spaces to meet program needs, including quiet reading time and active indoor play. Porches provide pleasant transition zones between the playground and classrooms.

Half a century together over a multitude of projects as architect and early childhood education center, St Michaels continues to return for our dedication to creating vibrant and effective learning spaces.

Children’s Garden

Originally designed by Homsey Architects in 1966, St. Michael’s School and Nursery remains a timeless and uniquely innovative structure, complete with rooftop play areas and a dynamic floor plan.

Three decades after it originally opened, the design team returned to St Michaels to a program that had grown significantly, and a school in need of expanded administrative offices and conference spaces.

Several years later, in 1998, the team was call upon again to assist with the refurbishing of the original interiors. When the School acquired an adjoining church property in 2000, they requested our assistance in designing the new two-story connector building, the adaptive re-use of the newly-acquired church, and the additions to and renovations of the original facility.

AAA’s Mid-Atlantic Headquarters, located on the Riverfront, is in the beginning phase of construction following a reprogramming initiative and collaborative workspace integration. The renovation spans across all six floors, and constitutes 23,000 SF of the building. Design efforts include new, open meeting areas, five open-concept pantries, phone rooms, executive offices, copy spaces, conference and interview rooms. In addition to working alongside clients and departmental user-groups, our team was involved with the coordination of move-management, furniture and A/V vendors.

Two 100,000+ SF family court house and departmental office support of ground-up construction, interior design, and furniture fit-out for multiple tenants office suites across each floor. Working with a subject matter consultant to ensure each individual tenant’s needs are met, and the overall project is cohesive, while adhering to strict security measures between the public and detainee end users.

AMTRAK UNIFIED OPERATIONS CENTER MULTI-FLOOR OFFICE FIT-OUT WILMINGTON, DE

The renovation of approximately 75,000 SF across five floors is a result of a thorough programming effort with over departmental user-groups and stakeholders. The project consists of new offices, break rooms, conference rooms, war rooms, a tier III data center, multiple scales of call center theaters, a fitness center, tech cafe, and open office space. Consistent coordination of network and technology upgrades, console and workstation furniture, and security enhancements were integral to the successful redesign of the operations center.

JEFFERSON HEALTH FIT-OUT WEST BERLIN, NJ

A 6,586 SQ FT fit-out in a new one story building.The new suite includes (9) exam rooms, nurses station, (2) treatment rooms, lab and blood draw, managers offices, conference rooms, staff lounge, and a reception and waiting area with (4) patient check in stations.

Renovations to the Nemours Children’’s Hospital NICU Suite that included updates to 14 patient rooms, the healthcare team work area, family lounge, and kitchen. Dan provided leadership through the required OHFLC Submission process including completion of a Blueprint Review Narrative and review meetings with Shabana Ehsani.

Dan served as the Senior Project Manager for the relocation and expansion of an existing Nemours specialty clinic to Broomall, PA. The new 17,000 sf clinic has a variety of clinics including audiology, Cardiology, Physical Therapy, Radiology, Ambulatory, ENT, and Orthopedic medicine.
