The Widener University Academic building is designed in the classical architectural motif to blend with the iconic nature of the campus. This, along with an intense building program – comprised of a main lecture hall, classrooms, labs, health services, faculty offices, and The Oskin Research Center – made it challenging to design to LEED’s sustainable design criteria. The first integrated effort was in site selection. The building’s site is located in the center of campus, readily accessing multiple public transit and campus bus stops.

Effective and efficient co-location of publiclyaccessible and educational healthcare facilities. 12276 College of Health Science
The College of Health Science is the first University program to move to the new STAR (Science, Technology and Advanced Research) campus. The program includes outpatient treatment facilities, such as physical therapy and health care services. It also houses human mobility labs, classrooms, and faculty offices. The design focused on orienting visitors to easily navigate the large facility, providing a color palate that provided both interest and serenity, and meeting the technical needs of the approximately 400 staff members and daily users of the facility.

A new center for sports, spirituality, and character development in the heart of the campus
04967 Mirenda Center
This new 75,000 square foot sports, convocation, and educational center creates the opportunity for Neumann students to embrace both sports and spirituality throughout their college experience. With classrooms, game rooms, multi-purpose spaces, and sports facilities, the student center is designed to encourage students to gather and socialize. The main gymnasium is 14,300 square feet with a collegiate level basketball court, bleachers, and a running track. The Community Hall, or auxiliary gymnasium, is 6,850 square feet and also has a collegiate level basketball court. The location of this facility as well as the new pedestrian-oriented “heart” of the campus ties into the overall master plan for the University. A new central landscaped plaza, increased parking, new traffic pattern and land available for future expansion, has created a safer environment for the students. This building has created a new identity for the campus by changing its visual and locational orientation focusing on pedestrian activity and spaces.

With a focus on innovation, this project will mee the high standards expected in healthcare fields and benefit the students’ educational needs. 22016 Allied Health Center of Excellence
The Southeast building renovation project will achieve the College’s vision of creating an innovative, state-of-the-art Allied Health Center of Excellence (AHCOE) for the campus’ health programs. With this investement in renovation and relocations, the new AHCOE will be home to the College’s allied health programs including surgical tech, paramedic, medical assisting, and more. More than 62,000 SF of renovations to classrooms, science and simulation labs, student lounges, and the main conference center were the areas in focus. Medical Equipment planning & procurement, IT/AV upgrades, and updated furniture and finishes throughout will enhance the education of those centered on Health Sciences.

22016 Allied Health Center of Excellence
The Brandywine Campus is a 41.5 acre development, which will include up to three buildings and associated site development. The main building is situated to take advantage of views of the woodland area with glass walls extending floor to ceiling in the double-height space. Phase one of the project, which is currently under construction, consists of a new 60,000 square foot building that will provide classrooms, administrative offices, a library, cafe, bookstore, student services facilities, and a student commons, The university has decided to depart from its Georgian architectural style, opting for a campus of contemporary buildings to express their mission of providing 21sr century education to their students.

AAA’s Mid-Atlantic Headquarters, located on the Wilmington Riverfront, is in the beginning phase of construction following a reprogramming initiative and collaborative workspace integration. The renovation spans across all six floors, and constitutes 23,000 SF of the building. Design efforts include new, open meeting areas, five open-concept pantries, phone rooms, executive offices, copy spaces, conference and interview rooms. In addition to working alongside clients and departmental user-groups, our team was involved with the coordination of move-management, furniture and A/V vendors.

Chesapeake Utilities approached Tevebaugh Architecture to create a vision for consolidating the operations of four separate offices, two storage facilities, a maintenance and materials supply yard, and a compressed natural gas filling station onto a new 20-acre campus in Dover, Delaware.
A comprehensive design solution to integrate office space, operations, and warehousing. 15453 Chesapeake Utilities, Energy Lane Campus
The result was a new flagship facility for their companies that included a 55,000 SF modern office that prioritized daylighting and flexibility. The offices of each company were supported by a common conferencing center, an employee fitness center, a new 36,000 SF warehouse, a 10,000 SF vehicle storage facility, and the region’s first compressed natural gas vehicle filling station. The project featured innovative and sustainable natural gas technologies, and achieved Green Globes Certification for its approach to sustainability, health, and wellness. The new campus houses 250 employees, and the new workspace plays a primary role in the company’s recruiting and retention efforts for their employees.

Since its creation in 2016, the original Mill Space co-working fitout on the 4th floor of the Nemours building in downtown Wilmington has seen exponential growth and success. Tevebaugh teamed up with BPG and The Mill to lead the design team through construction documents and construction administration for the Mill’s expansion to the 7th floor. This latest phase will serve three private tenant suites that will share common core services between them. Each of the tenants enjoys the security and privacy of dedicated co-working areas for the respective teams, while also benefitting from co-located common core elements that are available to each of the tenants on the floor.

Early Schematic Visualization of the Project
A speculative development project ulitizing valuable tools during the design phase like visualizations, design/build techniques, and efficient cost and construction analysis 18027 Concord Office Building
A 60,000 SF, ground-up, speculative development that utilized design/build efficiencies with the Buccini Pollin Group and BPGS Construction. The developer secured Marlette Funding as the single tenant for the building in the midst of Tevebaugh’s design phase. Tevebaugh worked closely with the development team to optimize the flexibility of the footprint in conjunction with the usable square footage of the floor plates. The shell and core design developed by the team includes custom metal-work surrounds in the masonry fenestrations, as well as an intricate and subtle juxtaposition of varying metal panel thickness and colors on the primary facade. The early project visualizations and design were valuable marketing tools utilized by the landlord in the process of marketing the property to potential tenants, as well as eventually securing the lease with Marlette. The project is scheduled for occupancy in 2021.

Lacking a dedicated space for students to socialize, participate in study groups, and host events, the decision was made to convert the outdated gym into a student center
22016 Allied Health Center of Excellence
Wilmington University’s main campus in New Castle, DE needed a way to foster the student engagement and school spirit difficult to achieve on a commuter campus. The stripped-down volume of the gym was treated as an outdoor space with structures and divisions designed to break up the space for various functions. The reception desk and office are housed in a freestanding round “hut” off-center from the entrance. At the far end of the space, a treehouse rises providing a second-story hang-out spot overlooking the main volume. A knee wall divides the open main floor into a play area a lounge area with furniture that can be reconfigured according to the event. Tucked away in a corner is an enclosed video-gamimg room.

This project is a 12,000 sqft Dental Clinic as part of a 24,000 sqft interior fit-out of a two story building for medical office units. This state of the art dental clinic, run by the University of Maryland Dental School has 26 operatories and support spaces.
