This year we look forward to a daunting yet thrilling year.

Unity and responsibility is strengthened and our gut tells us there is a turning point on the horizon.

We remember our place in nature, and begin to break the back of individualism - revealing, exposing and confronting self-interest – a root cause of our despair.

We restore our instinct for living collectively with the land and with each other. The priority is ensuring our enduring principles are applied to the journey of revitalization – not compromising them in order to achieve onedimensional outcomes as quickly as possible.

A humble approach guided by the processes and protocols of TĹŤhoetana, Mana Motuhake and Matemateaone is how we will revive a worthy TĹŤhoe society. This year we are committed to achieving the following;

Te Kawa o Te Urewera resources and leadership programme developed; people management measures are further defined.

Volunteering opportunities clarified and platforms and systems set up.

Settle an improved relationship with Genesis Energy to deliver improved responsibility at Lake Waikaremoana.

An increase of pest-control contributions from Tribals and Friends of Te Urewera.

Operational model for Tūhoe medical centres is reviewed.

Opinion is unified

Collective health goals identified and a sustainable Tūhoe standard of care is developed; Tūhoe-Orana Tamariki strategy confirmed. Support needed to safely move Tūhoe tamariki out of state care and back into healthy Tūhoe homes is understood; respite care and transitional home for tamariki operating; Tūhoe caregiver and home assessment standards are designed and apply for Tūhoe tamariki.

Tūhoe education team designs a learning environment, that embraces Tūhoe definitions and descriptions of schooling and education. Tūhoe – Te Urewera module for ECE kaimahi developed.

Future Tribal workforce needs are forecasted. Whānau learning opportunities for specialist skills in health, housing and infrastructure are provided.
