Teton Science Schools has been inspiring curiosity, engagement and leadership through transformative place-based education since 1967. Our summer programs incorporate this mission in a variety of ways. Some programs take students into the parks to explore the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, while others encourage innovative thinking through STEMdriven courses. No matter which program you choose, our professional educators will foster a camp experience that sparks curiosity and interest in nature, science, design, robotics and much more.

Two-Six Years Old The world is a magical and curious place when you’re young.

Children from two to six years old can explore the world around them in a fun, caring and age-appropriate environment. Days will be spent creating art, digging in the garden, interacting with our farm animals and exploring nature near and far. The Forest Kindergarten program will take place entirely outdoors in both Idaho and Wyoming.

ELEMENTARY/MIDDLE SCHOOL Entering Kindergarten-Grade 8

Experience nature, gardening and exploration through these camps. Children will have opportunities to explore, inquire and investigate the world around them. In conjunction with Full Circle Education, young gardeners will care for local farm animals and gardens and harvest locally-grown products.

3 Years Old-Entering Kindergarten In harmony with Reggio Emilia and nature-based practices, Journeys School Pre-Kindergarten faculty will lead these programs for three to five year olds. Children will engage in their natural surroundings through exploration and play following weekly themes. Children will explore different art mediums to complement their experiences and foster creativity.

JACKSON HOLE SCIENCE CAMPS

Entering Grades 5-6 Fifth and sixth graders will gain a deeper understanding of the wildlife and wildlands of Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. These programs are characterized by developing outdoor skills through stewardship, leadership, art, hiking, canoeing and overnight camping adventures.

Entering Grades 6-9 TETON TEEN LEADERSHIP “Ready to climb? Climb on!” During this program you’ll focus on identifying your personal leadership style, practicing group problem-solving and decision making, and putting teamwork skills to the test on the Doug Walker Challenge Course. The first days will incorporate the low elements on the challenge course. Mid-week, the team will hike one of the lesser traveled parts of Grand Teton National Park.

To culminate the week, the final two days will be spent refining your leadership and communication skills as you climb the high elements.

Entering Grades 7-9 WOLVES | Women Only Leadership, Volunteering, Exploration and Science Join the wolf pack for a girl-powered adventure through the heart of the Wyoming wilderness. Elevate your experience on our Doug Walker Challenge Course, canoe glacially-formed lakes, solve mysteries with science and make a difference through service projects. Come discover your own strengths on an all-female backpacking expedition into the rugged terrain surrounding Jackson Hole. This experience includes five nights at Teton Science Schools’ Jackson Campus, low and high ropes experiences and three nights of backcountry camping.

Girls; 9 days, 8 nights: June 23-July 1 | $1,245 Teton Explorations Join students from across the country in an exciting exploration of Grand Teton National Park. Develop your outdoor leadership and wilderness skills as you hike, canoe and backpack in this inspiring landscape. Come make new friends, have fun, engage in learning naturalist skills and explore in the Tetons this summer. The course includes eight nights at the historic Elbo Ranch (Kelly Campus) in Grand Teton National Park and three nights of backcountry camping.

Entering Grades 7-9 Ultimate Grand Teton Adventure Hike, backpack and explore the scientific mysteries of Grand Teton National Park! What is life like on the highest of peaks? Where do creatures hide when the summer sun begins to shine? Head for the mountains and use the powers of field science to shine a light on the natural world during an epic journey into the wilderness surrounding Jackson Hole. The Ultimate Grand Teton Adventure includes five nights at Teton Science Schools’ Jackson Campus, a high ropes experience and four nights of backcountry camping focused on field science projects.

Kings of the Mountains Answer the call of the wild on an expedition into rugged terrain surrounding Jackson Hole. Entering Grades 9-11 Expressions in Nature & Art The wilderness of Jackson Hole has inspired some of the most influential conservation writers and artists of our time. Spark your own creativity and passion by actively engaging the diverse, charismatic wildlife and the ecology of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Explore the region with peers and local artists by hiking, canoeing and backpacking. Use these awe-inspiring backdrops to build your own artistic capacity. This course includes lodging at the Kelly Campus in Grand Teton National Park, three nights camping in the Jackson Hole backcountry and four nights frontcountry camping. High school credit is available.

OVERNIGHT CAMPS

Entering Grades 11-12 Jackson Hole Science Expeditions Become part of a historic legacy by joining the program that started Teton Science Schools in 1967! Immerse yourself in the study of the natural sciences in one of the most beautiful and ecologically complex wilderness areas in North America.

Alongside knowledgeable instructors, you will sharpen your analytical thinking and scientific skills before conducting field-research projects through hands-on exploration of Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Your experience culminates with a backpacking trip in Jackson Hole. The program and lodging is based at the Kelly Campus in Grand Teton National Park along with five nights frontcountry camping and four nights backcountry camping. High school credit is available.

ADULT & FAMILY The Murie Ranch Located in Grand Teton National Park, the historic Murie Ranch was home to the conservation-minded Murie Family beginning in 1945. Visitors to the ranch explore the Murie legacy through daily docent-led tours, offered May-October.

Road Scholar Program Teton Science Schools provides educational programs in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks for adults and families through our partner, Road Scholar.

Wildlife Expeditions Wildlife Expeditions provides half-day, full-day and multi-day safari tours that are fun for the whole family. Expeditions are offered year-round in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. During these educational tours, you’ll learn about wildlife, landscape and the history of Jackson Hole and Yellowstone from our professional guides.
