Edge computing has a big impact on the Internet of Things since every internet-connected item generates a lot of data that can't be handled all at once. Creating the data, sending it out for analysis and investigation, and then returning the results to the device would take a long time and result in delays. As a result, we needed a reliable system that could reduce this time and provide us with the comfort of speedy responses. Hence, edge computing emerged as a viable option.
For any technology, data is a driving force which should be analysed before being sent to centralised storage, such as the cloud, and this is where edge computing comes into play. Edge computing is a network of data centres that process and store information locally before transferring it to the cloud. This is necessary to avoid disruptions and to speed up data delivery. As a result, this port of entry before the main data centre receives it is referred to as the network's "edge" or "border."
