As summer recedes into the ever-increasing distance, and we’re all thinking, “But wait... we didn’t...” our thoughts turn to the cooler months ahead, although here at Glengarry, being only partially able to face up to reality, we have a foot in both camps. Under the sun’s benevolent gaze, that intrinsically sunny tipple, rosé, has been making everything feel just fabulous, in a pinkish sort of way. The Blushing Princess is experiencing unprecedented interest on a global level, and New Zealand has not been immune to her charms, with the quantity of both local and imported options available going through the roof. Our other featured vinous option, perhaps more attuned to the chillier weather that’s on its way, is Syrah: the holy grail of the northern Rhône has found certain parts of New Zealand very much to its liking, and it would be fair to say that the feeling is mutual.
