This month we take a look at the historically all-conquering Chardonnay,
a grape that is rapidly rediscovering its mojo as wine drinkers remind themselves
of just how versatile it is, and why they previously found a glass of The Chard so
beguiling. We take a quick peek, in the process, at the source of so much inspiration,
Burgundy, before taking a tour around New Zealand’s various wine regions
in search of the Great White Grape. Featured winery is the much-respected and award-laden Akarua, we visit boutique Grand cru champagne house, Lilbert-Fils, before running through our autumnal reds and whites and rosés.
Then we check out the father-and-son Jack Daniel’s single barrel twin pack, jointly selected on site in Lynchburg, Tennessee, by myself and my son, Tani. We look in on the magnificent ports of Quinta de la Rosa as the cool closes in, visit the worlds of Stoke beer and Herradura tequila. Have a happy and safe Easter.
