Tyler and Deeva - Capturing Excellence in Dallas, TX

Dallas, TX, based photographers Tyler and Deeva Davis-Barthelemy are proving that when God puts His hands on something, it has no other choice but to work. The duo has enjoyed five years of marriage and work together as a team to raise seven children. They are committed to doing whatever is needed to make the job happen.

Tyler’s past has seen its share of hardships and tragedy. Those are the types of things he says cultivated his passion for taking pictures. “I would often reminisce on good moments by looking through photos. However, all pictured memories were lost during Hurricane Katrina at the age of 14. Later, a fatal incident resulted in my vision loss in one eye. Not having those memories to share with my children or even compare physical similarities as a child has been difficult, but I eventually found myself looking through the lenses of smartphone cameras and captured a new lease on life...photography,” he says.

Together, Tyler and Deeva own King & Queen Unlimited Studios. Their company offers various photography services, including single sessions, family sessions, newborn sessions, event photography, and more. Since welcoming their nephew to their team, Herschel Barthelemy Jr., who is very passionate and skilled in creating video content, they’ve added a videography component to their list of services which is ideal for sports and general events. “Our goal is to become a one-stop-shop for any occasion while providing all photography and videography needs,” they say.

King & Queen Unlimited Studios opened its doors for business in 2020, around the time when the Covid 19 pandemic arrived. Though detrimental to many, that time also produced many entrepreneurs like Tyler and Deeva. He says, “I had time to focus on my dreams, and my wife made that happen by investing in my dreams and constantly motivating me.”

Tyler admits that without Deeva, he would not be the man he is today. He credits her with being an amazing stay-at-home mother and for also pursuing her own dreams. She holds a degree in Human Services with a Concentration in Child and Family Services. Due to unforeseen circumstances, she took a hiatus from school to focus on their children and build her own business. Despite everything she was already managing, she has been a constant supporter of Tyler and his passion. “My wife has pushed me to pursue my dreams. At the time, I was most afraid of failure and not having the support behind me, and she assured me that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

The only regret Tyler shares about his journey is not starting sooner than he did, but he shares that he finds peace in knowing that it was all God’s timing. His advice to others who may follow in his footsteps is to just do it. “Don’t fear failure because the most substantial growth comes through challenges.”

As the future happens, Tyler’s and Deeva’s goals are to travel around the world. “There is so much more that we can achieve and so much more beauty to capture,” they say.
