eCollect: Initial production roll out impresses operators
It’s a game-changer. That’s the verdict on our eCollect from the first operators to put the all-electric refuse collection vehicle into operation. Nottingham City Council, UK took delivery of the first eRCV to roll off our Dennis Eagle subsidiary production line in September 2020 and a second soon followed. Other eCollect vehicles have been delivered to customers across the UK including Greater Cambridge Shared Waste Services, Islington in London and Dundee in Scotland as the eCollect continues to gain momentum in the market.

The 26-tonne, 6x2 eRCV is designed to be at least as efficient and cost-effective as Dennis Eagle’s market-leading diesel RCV. But with zero emissions, it will help operators improve air quality and address climate change while reducing operational costs.

The eCollect has been carefully designed to be as similar to Dennis Eagle’s marketleading diesel RCVs as possible. This helps the eCollect feel familiar to everyone working with them.

Its combination of Olympus OL19N body and Terberg OmniDEL automatic low-level split lift is used with great success on Dennis Eagle’s best-selling diesel RCVs, the eCollect still retains the Elite chassis although its diesel engine and related components have been replaced by an electric drivetrain and battery packs. So, crews used to conventional Dennis Eagle RCVs will be very comfortable working with the eCollect.
