TEQUATIMES TEQUATIMES

G’day everyone,

AIt’s been great to catch up with some new faces around the place lately. A big welcome to all of you who’ve come on board recentlythere’s plenty happening, and you’ve joined us at an exciting time. You’ve probably noticed a few new toys turning up in the drivewaysome fresh utes and the new vac dig rolling in. It’s all part of us continuing to modernise our equipment so we can keep working safely, efficiently, and with pride in what we do

A special shoutout

I also want to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our longstanding team members. You are the backbone of Tequa. Your experience, commitment and hard work set the standard for everyone who comes after you, and it doesn’t go unnoticed. We are almost over the winter hump ! We kicked off the new financial year with our inaugural Ten Plus Dinner, which was a real highlight for me. It was a great night to pause and celebrate those who’ve clocked up ten years or more with Tequa—a fantastic achievement and something worth recognizing properly. Thanks to our Staff and their partners that came along and helped create a memorable night for all in attendance.

Looking ahead

Our Leadership Development Program is also into its fourth year now. It’s been really rewarding to see so many of you step up and grow through that program, and we’re committed to keeping that momentum going as we invest in our people.

Thank you

Thanks to every one of you— whether you’ve been here a week or a decade—for everything you do. Let’s keep raising the bar together.

We’re already halfway through the year and what a ride it’s been!

The Civil team continues to go from strength to strength. We’ve successfully delivered both Cobains and Drayton, and we’re currently powering ahead on Gippsland Water’s Warragul and Neerim South projects. The entire team is working seamlessly, and it’s great to hear that GW is wrapped with the quality and outcomes so far, well done, team! Both of our sewer crews have been battling through some seriously wet conditions but continue to push through with typical determination and grit, a huge effort!

The Trenchless team also achieved a major milestone recently, flawlessly completing the Paynesville to Raymond Island drill, a great feat that deserves the recognition!

Our new team members have all settled in well, quickly becoming part of the crew. With several role changes across the group, it’s been really encouraging to see everyone band together and keep things moving forward with a strong sense of teamwork and support.

We’ve also officially launched our haulage truck, and it's off to a flying start! Kane has been flat out, assisting crews and coordinating with clients, awesome work, mate.

As we hit the halfway point of 2025, a big thank you to everyone for your hard work, adaptability, and team spirit.

Let’s keep the momentum going strong into the second half of the year!

Donating Blood in Gippsland

It only takes an hour… and you could save up to three lives. At Tequa, we’re all about helping people, so here’s something else we can do to make a massive difference in the communitydonate blood.

Why it matters:

Every 24 seconds, someone in Australia needs blood. Cancer patients, trauma victims, premature babies, and people undergoing surgery all rely on donations to survive. But here’s the problem: Only 1 in 30 Australians donate - even though 1 in 3 will need blood in their lifetime.

The benefits of donating:

✅ A free mini health check (blood pressure, iron levels, pulse)

✅ Burn a few sneaky calories

✅ Enjoy post-donation snacks (yeah, you get a cookie!)

✅ Feel great knowing you’ve made a real impact

✅ It only takes about 1 hour all up

MasterPlumbersCPD

Keeping your skills sharp just got easier.

The team at Master Plumbers has a CPD (Continuing Professional Development) program that helps plumbers stay up to date with new tech, safety, and changing rules in the industry.

What is CPD?

It’s a simple way to keep learning while you’re working. You earn 12 CPD points each year by doing things like:

✅ Attending training courses

✅ Watching manufacturer videos

✅ Reading technical guides

✅ Doing safety or skills refreshers

Master Plumbers keeps a full list of approved training -

Confined space training

Roof drainage design

Type A & B gas appliance servicing

Green plumbing tech

Business management skills

You can even log what you’ve done online with the CPD Toolbox to track your points.

WHAT’S CHANGING?

The Victorian Government is looking at making CPD mandatory for all licensed and registered plumbers. That would affect around 31,000 plumbers in the state. Master Plumbers supports the change and says it will help keep the whole industry safer and more skilled.

WHY IT MATTERS

You already do a lot on the job. CPD just makes it easier to keep those skills current - especially with how fast things are changing in plumbing.
