TEQUA TIMES November

Hey Team!

As we approach the final stretch of 2024, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible year we’ve had here at Tequa.

First, a big shout-out to everyone for your dedication and hard work throughout the year We’ve welcomed many new faces to the Tequa family, and the energy and fresh perspectives they bring have been nothing short of inspiring Whether you’ve been with us for a while or are just starting your journey here, your contributions have been invaluable

As we head into the final quarter, there’s still plenty to celebrate and look forward to. This weekend, we’ll be gathering for our annual Jingle & Mingle event, a time to come together, share in the holiday spirit, and recognize the incredible work that each of you has put in this year. I’m excited to see everyone in person and enjoy some well-deserved fun.

LDP Leadership Development Program

On the leadership development front, we’re also thrilled to announce that the 2024 Leadership Development Program is officially complete! A huge congratulations to all who participated—your dedication to growing as leaders within our company is inspiring, and I can’t wait to see the impact you’ll continue to make in the years ahead.

Mutt Truck

I’d also like to take a moment to highlight something very close to our hearts here at Tequa: mental health awareness You may have noticed the new Trade Mutt wrapped truck on the road, designed to raise awareness and support the mental health initiatives that are so vital to our industry and our community This partnership is a reminder that we all have a role to play in breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health and supporting one another. It’s great to see our vehicles not just out on the road but carrying such an important message along with them.

Looking ahead to 2025, we’re entering an incredibly exciting chapter. As we approach Tequa’s 50th anniversary, we have an opportunity to celebrate not only our past achievements but also the bright future ahead The coming year promises to be one of innovation, growth, and opportunity, and I’m excited for what we’ll all accomplish as we continue to build on the foundation we’ve laid

In closing, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Your resolve as a team shows each and everyday as you all unite and spread the news of our solutions based, diversified offer to family and friends, and in the field Here’s to finishing 2024 strong and setting the stage for an unforgettable 2025!

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season,

Cheers, Trent!

MENTAL HEALTH MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS AWARENESS

At Tequa, we understand that mental health is just as important as physical health, which is why we're deeply committed to fostering a culture of support and awareness within our team and beyond.

We’re proudly participating in Movember raising both funds and awareness for men’s health issues, including mental health and suicide prevention. The effort has sparked open conversations and highlighted the need for ongoing support for mental well-being, especially in maledominated industries.

In addition, we marked RUOK? Day with a strong focus on reaching out and checking in with those around us. Encouraging meaningful conversations and promoting the importance of staying connected is key to maintaining good mental health, and we're committed to making these practices a regular part of our culture.

And in an exciting new initiative, we've wrapped our fleet of trucks with Trademutt branding, further supporting the message of mental health awareness and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health conversations.

Trademutt, a movement that encourages open dialogue, has become a powerful ally in our journey towards a more mindful and supportive workplace.

3 Countries | 50+ States | 1,600+ Speaking Gigs | 3M+ People Reached AND WE WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE MATT AT TEQUA!

This year, we’ve taken several steps to promote mental well-being, starting with the inspiring visit from Matt Runnals of Mindful Aus, who shared valuable insights into mental health and mindfulness practices with our staff. His message resonated with us all, reinforcing the importance of staying connected and supporting each other through life's challenges.

At Tequa, mental health matters whether it’s through workshops, events, or just a conversation with a colleague. Together, we can break down barriers and build a stronger, more resilient community. Stay mindful, stay connected, and remember, you’re never alone.

The Gas Transition Debate

The Victorian Government’s proposal to move away from gas has stirred significant debate, with many consumers wondering how it will affect their homes and energy choices. In September, legislation was introduced giving the Government authority to ban gas appliances, including cooktops, in existing homes.

If passed, this could restrict consumers’ energy options, affecting homeowners, renters, and property providers across the state

A Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) and public consultation are scheduled for later this year. However, some critics argue that the Government already has the power to impose gas bans without additional parliamentary oversight or public input, casting doubt on the transparency of this process.

One central issue is the Government’s claim that all households will save money by switching to electric appliances. Experts caution that, with over 80% of Victorian homes connected to mains gas, the transition to an all-electric home might not be practical or affordable for everyone. Households may face costs for replacing gas appliances, potential long payback periods, and challenges with electric systems like heat pumps, which are not suited for all home types.

Energy security is also a concern. Many consumers prefer having both gas and electricity, viewing it as a more balanced and secure approach, especially amid market uncertainties.

While a shift toward cleaner energy is important, critics are calling for a more balanced and transparent approach. They argue that a gas transition plan should consider the diverse needs of households and allow consumers to make informed energy decisions

Want to have your say?

A petition has been launched, urging the Victorian Government to respect consumers' right to choose affordable and reliable energy options. It gives both consumers and industry professionals a platform to voice their opposition and advocate for a more thoughtful energy transition.
