ACTIVITY DIAGRAM "45° OPEN BOOK"
The focus of the project is a revitalization plan for Main Street district in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA. The challenge is to formulate contemporary design compatible with Main Street’s commercial and civic heritage. The first analytical drawings investigate and develop an understanding for how scale, frontage, building grouping, lot characteristics and transportation system form Main Street as a district public realm.

DESIGN PROPOSAL
N MASTER PLAN
The final solution proposes redefinition of the parking areas, filling the gabs in the urban fabric as creating a fully developed architectural project that demonstrates an urban intelligence. An important part is that the new designed structures share a commitment to the pedestrian-oriented streets as the formative urban condition.

URBAN DESIGN MAIN STREET
MAIN STREET DISTRICT PHYSICAL MODEL 1”=20’ (1:260)
MAIN STREET DISTRICT PHYSICAL MODEL 1”=50’ (1:600)
Great part of the studio time was dedicated to developing renderings and models that fully communicate a combined urban-architectural experience in different scales. INDIVIDUAL PROJECT PHYSICAL MODEL 1/8” (1:96)
The project was developed in a “teaching office” environment where all students work collaboratively with the UACDC staff in order to design a common district plan in addition to design of individual building proposals by each student. UACDC staff: Stephen Luoni, Director Jeffrey Huber, Adjunct Assistant Professor Cory Amos, Project Designer Benjamin Curtin, Project Designer
Besides the group work, each student design their own more detailed architectural proposal with the twin goals of advancing the Main Street District plan while creating a fully developed architectural project. As with any well-designed urban project, the objective is to balance community and individual interests, and to negotiate the interests of individual authorship with a coherent urban approach.

The project represents a detailed plan of a new complex for 1500 people. While developing I have bared in mind factors such as the steep terrain and the realities on the ground. The assignment is absolutely real and consistent with the requirements of the investors and all the urban indicators. The project was chosen to represent the Higher School of Civil Engineering in the 2010 Summer Exhibition at the Union of Architects in Bulgaria.
