THE LEGENDARY NEW ZEALAND CAMPING EMPIRE...

THE ZEMPIRE STORY

In 2005, Richard Knauf was working as a Product Manager for an iconic camping brand. He grew increasingly frustrated seeing products restricted by large corporate policies, knowing full well there were plenty more features that could make the outdoors a lot more fun for adventure seekers.

He decided to fuel his passion and take it upon himself to create superior camping products that made spending time outdoors that extra 10% better. Equipped with a wealth of customer insights and product knowledge, Richard took the leap to create his own design-focused camping brand – one that would keep “the last 10%” at the forefront.

Richard had a classic Kiwi upbringing of skiing and hiking in the rugged central plateau of New Zealand’s North Island – a beautiful area known for its volcanoes, waterfalls, and thermal springs, and for being exceptionally hard on gear. From his early adventures to exploring mountains and ski fields across the globe later in life, Richard gained a deep appreciation for how well-designed gear could elevate his outdoor experiences.

Armed with enthusiasm, designs, and a spreadsheet, Richard headed to China. There he met Sophie, a manufacturing specialist for the outdoor industry. The two joined forces – and as they say, the rest is history (if history were made up of a heck of a lot of late nights, hard work, and coffee!).

The name Zempire® derives from “The Legendary New Zealand Camping Empire”, which continues to take on the world as a market leader in camping equipment design. EVOBASE 3 (Formaly known as Aerobase 3)

This gazebo was well tested on its first camping trip. I selected the Zempire Gazebo as I wanted one that I could put up by myself (myself being a 70 year old woman). Set up was very Straight forward and easily a one woman job. We had 40k/h winds which it stood up to, and 15 mm of rain and I stayed dry. The pockets sewn into the corners are so handy – keeping everything neat and tidy. I did have a bit of a problem rolling it up – rewatched you tube instructional video and second time had no problem. THE CYCLONES THAT PROVED THE ULTIMATE TEST...

In January and February 2023 Cyclone Hale & Cyclone Gabrielle ripped through New Zealand’s upper North Island bringing widespread damage to the region. While it was the worst conditions kiwis could imagine for their summer camping holidays, we just kept seeing stories pop up online of our Zempire tents standing strong in the extreme weather events...

I was in the worst downpour I’ve ever seen in my Aerodome and she held up a treat. It was my first time in her and honestly can’t imagine camping on any other brand now.

The campsite this morning was carnage. Fallen trees, branches, tents, gazebos, power outages and mess all over the place. And here she was standing proudly! Winds must have been gusting 50-60 knots! Absolutely stoked! Thank you Zempire.

LOVE IT SO MUCH WE HAVE TWO!

We bought two of these so that we have one for us and one for the kids which we join with our Aerobase 3 shelter. This works amazing as we all have our space and we can configure differently depending on the campsite! We love them!

Our family just got back from a camping trip with the Evo TLV2 and I have to say, this tent made the whole experience so much easier and more enjoyable! Setting up this tent could not have been easier. The very first time I put it up was by myself, in the dark, with only my car headlights lighting the site, and it still went smoothly. That says a lot about how simple the setup is. Inside, the space is amazing. The main living area feels open and practical, and the awning adds so much extra room for gear, food prep, or just relaxing. The blackout feature was perfect for our family. It kept the tent dark well into the morning and let us sleep much later than usual. That alone made a big difference for us. The build feels really solid too. Even after a few nights of use, the tent stayed sturdy and reliable, which gave us peace of mind. Overall, the Evo TLV2 has been a great family tent. Easy to set up, plenty of space, smart design, and strong quality. I would recommend it to any family looking for comfort and convenience while camping.

FANTASTIC FAMILY TENT WITH GREAT SPACE & COMFORT

Aerospeed Tents are equipped with our patented Dura-Core fabric which uses Solution Dye Technology making it ultra-fade resistant, enabling the fabric’s original colours to last longer in exposure to UV. The fly fabric is constructed with low water use, heavily reducing the environmental impact during production.

I used the Aerospeed 10 for the first time on a Father’s Day weekend daddy–daughter camping trip at an RV park. Setup was very easy to follow — though I had watched a lot of videos ahead of time, the instructions and process were simple. Pumping the tent wasn’t too bad (though will probably invest in an electric pump for convenience). It was the hottest part of the day during setup, and the ventilation was excellent once the tent was up. The interior space is outstanding — we used the divider so my daughter could have her own “room,” which she absolutely loved. I was surprised to discover that under the fly is a mesh-style roof, which helped with airflow. The tent paired perfectly with the Speedbase 2 gazebo and the connecting link — it really made for a fantastic camping setup. A couple things to keep in mind for future buyers: this tent is large, so make sure you have enough ground space, and be aware that it does need to be staked down (not freestanding). You’ll want soft ground to allow proper staking — not ideal for hard surfaces like concrete or rocky ground. Overall, extremely satisfied — even on the first try, the tent packed back into its bag with no trouble. I would highly recommend the Aerospeed 10 for family car camping or group trips where you have the space and soft ground. It’s an amazing tent for anyone who enjoys comfort and roominess while camping.

OUTSTANDING ON ALL FRONTS!! NEVER DISAPPOINTS!

This tent has more than surpassed my expectations! It was incredibly easy to set up the first time and has become easier after multiple outings. The zippers work easily and never snagged. I'm 5'9" and the tent's stand up height was exactly what I needed. I can easily fit a large double air mattress and still have room for my camping chair and table. I used the included pump and it took no time to inflate. I'm 73 and at 6,000 feet it was not a huge task. I would strongly recommend adding quality tent stakes to your kit as the stakes included are aluminum and not strong enough to pound into hard dirt. They maybe great for grass but not for Arizona hardback. Overall this is a terrific, quality product and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

I CAN’T RECOMMEND ENOUGH! For a budget tent its quality out performs tents triple its price range. I have literally spent hundreds of nights in the bush in it and it has kept me safe and dry every time. It’s been buried in snow and faced severe winds on exposed ranges on Stewart Island and come out unscathed.
