MASTERPLAN
INDIVIDUAL : GREENHOUSE ART COMMUNITY

For this project the location of the site itself i find it interesting to work on as we need to reuse the building. The aim of this project is to re-imagine the Hope Mill as all the building in site connect with each other by creating culture through masterplanning in group. The suggested concept takes existing green areas and canal into account and calls for the cautious dismantling of the existing.
After careful consideration on the site, I believe it could help people feel more connected to nature. One of the suggestions was to allow the local flora and wildlife to become more wild and interact with the existing structures. My curiosity in knowing more about the butterfly and how it might benefit the community has been aroused. Its qualities and advantages for the environment in architecture. Some butterfly species are endangered because not many people tend to protect them, despite the fact that they are known as a pollinator that helps to improve the environment.
The culture that my group decide is on arts which is interesting on how i can implement certain programme that related to it. Engaging people with nature gives a tranquility feeling. With the introduction of various programmes including painting workshops and greenhouse, it is hoped that the community especially kids will become more interested in learning about the environment through arts.
I hope that this will enable the location to develop into an educational and exploratory zone where the locals may raise butterflies in their own homes.
