Adult B’nei Mitzvah

We are so happy that you are ready to be called to Torah! Temple Israel’s next Adult B’nei Mitzvah cohort will begin this September, meeting bi-weekly on a two-year journey towards an Adult B’nei Mitzvah service in the spring of 2023. Class meetings over the two years are divided into four semesters of learning and discussion, where you will look not only outward at Judaism and Jewish tradition, but inward at your own spiritual life, guided by your passion to learn Hebrew and Torah. Based on the three pillars of Reform Judaism: God, Torah, and Israel, our next Adult B’nei Mitzvah cohort will cover such varied areas as Hebrew, Jewish history, Israel, the Jewish bookshelf, liturgy, mitzvot, and theology. Deborah Sacks Mintz, Musical Artist-inResidence: November 5-7, 2021

A transformative prayer leader and musician, Deborah Sacks Mintz has served innovative institutions around the country as a teacher of Torah and communal Jewish music and a resource to those seeking to cultivate the grassroots musical and spiritual creativity of the Jewish people. Deborah released her debut album of original spiritual music, The Narrow and the Expanse, in 2020. A Wexner Graduate Fellow, Deborah is pursuing rabbinical ordination at the Jewish Theological Seminary. Don’t miss the opportunity to sing with and learn from Deborah throughout the weekend’s events, teachings and worship.
