CAMP BETH EMET DAY CAMP When we choose a camp we don’t always think, “What does this mean for my child in a year, or ten years from now?” We are thinking about the now. This summer we encourage you to think long term. Let Temple Beth Emet be home to your child for many years to come. By choosing Camp Beth Emet you are building your camper’s commitment and connection to Judaism and to an amazing community. Camp Beth Emet’s staff focuses on all of the little details. Our goal is to recognize each camper’s individuality and to make sure each one is comfortable and happy each day. Watch your camper open his/her mind to exploring new activities, new friendships and new creative experiences. We only get one summer each year, let’s make this summer the BEST!

Swimming at
Day Camp
(Starting at 18 months)
At Camp Beth Emet your child receives instructional and recreational swim taught by Just Swim Inc. in our on-site pool. Jeff Gershe, Just Swim’s founder and head coach, started teaching over 30 years ago and is still in the pool sharing his knowlege and teaching swimming lessons with passion. Campers are grouped according to skill level. Just Swim staff work with campers one on one or in small groups to teach them water safety, swim skills and how to be comfortable in the water.
3 months to walkers Our infant care program offers a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment for out littlest campers. Campers enjoy music, creative movement, baby sports and sign language. Campers enjoy camp entertainment like Oopsy the Clown, a character show and Friday Shabbats in the sanctuary. Our infant program includes low ration and NAEYC accredited preschool staff, a color-coded labeling system for each child and a separate nap room for napping. (*4 or 8 week options available)
Walkers to 4 years
Walkers to 4 years will experience a summer ďŹ lled with excitement, friendship and Jewish tradition in a safe and nurturing environment. Personalized attention and a whole lot of love make our campers feel safe exploring and discovering a wide range of new experiences in a stimulating environment. Campers are supervised by our award winning and NAEYC accredited preschool staff. CITs are placed in each camp bunk, acting as role models and fun buddies for our campers. The camp day includes a perfect mix of school structure and summer fun!

Kindergarten to 7th Grade
Kindergarten to 7th grade campers will experience a variety of exciting, stimulating and action-packed activities. Our goal is to create an environment of positive social development, to recognize each child’s individuality and allow each camper to experience independence, enhance self-esteem and have fun! We are small enough to give campers a feeling of intimacy and comfort, yet large enough to provide campers with choices and an opportunity for growth. Campers are supervised by educators from our school staff, as well as knowledgeable adults with many years of education and camp/school experience. CITs are placed in each camp bunk, acting as role models and fun buddies for our campers.

Kindergarten: 1 trip per week 1st & 2nd grades: 1-2 trips per week 3rd grade & Up: 1-3 trips per week All field trips are age appropriate with the majority of trips being local. After Camp Fun: The fun never ends at Camp Beth Emet! Periodically, we invite campers to stay on campus “after
hours” to enjoy programs such as craft projects for Father’s day, movies, pool parties, summer night music, dance parties, circus shows and pajama parties just to name a few.
Each summer we focus on a different social action project. At Camp Beth Emet we strive to give our campers great experiences, as well as teach them great ways to help our community and the world around us. We plan our social action project with our campers and then make it happen together!

sleepaway camp experience
July 7-15, 2017
Your camper may enjoy one week of sleep-away camp at Camp Kinder Ring in New York. Campers are immersed into the daily routines of sleep-away camp, enjoying all the activities the village has to offer. Enjoy canoeing, swimming, sailing, fishing, sports (hockey, baseball, soccer, tennis, basketball and lacrosse), kayaking, high ropes course & zip lining, rock climbing (climbing tower), and so much more. This is an amazing opportunity to experience one week of sleep-away camp with the comfort of your friends and counselors from home.

Teen Travel Camp is geared for the older camper. Each day campers experience trips to local destinations enjoying South Florida and all it has to offer. Join us as well on a four day trip to Tampa and an eight day trip to the south, visiting Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee. We aim to help each and every child develop character, learn valuable life skills, make friends and discover new interests in a safe environment. We look forward to sharing our summer with your teen!!!

Our Teen Travel Camp is all about bonding with peers, sharing experiences and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Our teen travel campers travel daily on luxury charter buses to local destinations. Once a week campers enjoy a morning of electives here on campus and Friday morning Shabbat experiences. Teen Travel Camp is the perfect summer experience giving teens the balance of independence and safe supervison.

What Parents Need to Know About
Day Camp & Travel Camp
What is the difference between Day Camp and Teen Travel Camp? Day Campers enjoy on-campus activities daily and attend field trips 1-3 days per week based on their age group. Teen Travel Campers ride a coach bus daily to fun field trip destinations. They are on campus 2 mornings a week.
What are camp dates and hours? June 13 - August 5, 2016 (August 8-12 Post Camp) Extended Care: 7:00- 9:00 a.m. and 4:00-6:00 p.m. Day Camp Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Travel Camp Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.
How do I register? Attend the camp showcase and reunion on January 24, 2016 to receive bonus discounts. Early bird rates expire March 11, 2016. Registration can be pleted by downloading the forms from our website, templebethemet.org or by calling the camp office at 954-680-7656.

How often does my camper swim? Day campers have instructional swim (based on age,at no additional fee) 2 days per week and free swim 1-2 days per week in either our wading pool or large pool. How often do campers go on fieldtrips? Kindergarten: 1 trip per week, 1st & 2nd grades: 1-2 trips per week, 3rd grade and up: 2-3 trips per week, Teen Travel Camp: trips daily.
What should my camper wear to camp? All campers should dress in comfortable clothing. For your child’s safety please dress them in sneakers only. Each camper receives a complimentary camp shirt. Your camper should wear their camp shirt on field trip days. All other campers should wear their camp shirt every Monday.
Discounts and financial assistance: Sibling discounts are available. Temple Members receive 10% off camp tuition. Financial assistance and scholarships are available to qualifying families. Please inquire.
