WORDSFROMWATKINS

Good evening and welcome to our third pre season fixture of the season.

Peterborough look to have a built a very competitive roster with several key players retiring or moving on with Slava bringing several new faces to the league who all look to have impressive resumes

I think this weekend will be highly competitive and also sees us meet the Phantoms for the first time since the play off semi finals which ended in contentious circumstances...

Last weekend was a big challenge, but good to see us back on the ice where we hoped to be. I thought we looked very leggy and could clear for us is playing with the right level of intensity We have had a very goo training sessions where we looked to be skating at a much higher level.

Enjoy the weekends hockey

Final Score: Autocraft Telford Tigers 0 Swindon Wildcats 4.

Scorers: None. Man of the match: Taylor Stanton

After the game Head Coach Tom Watkins, commented,

“We didn’t have the jump or chemistry we have seen at practice this last week but this is why we have these preseason fixtures

It was hard to get quality scoring chances or speed on our transition which I’m sure we will improve on but that’s also a credit to Swindon who have some high end quality with plenty of offensive punch and players on the back end who the move the puck well

We have to do the basics to a higher standard and stick to the process All areas that we will address and work hard to get everyone on the same page.”
