Good evening and welcome to Telford Ice Rink, where this evening we play MK Lightning after facing them last night on the road We know this will be an extremely tough weekend for us given the roster MK have assembled, plus now with the addition of GB international Sean Norris they have an abundance of top end offensive British talent and plenty of depth in a very balanced roster With the players and backing they have this must be a season where multiple trophies are expected?
I’m sure on their last visit to Telford they didn’t expect to drop to points to a team who have been struggling all season but in hockey I guess you never know what will happen!
We need to find consistency, our results aren’t good enough All season we seem to find a way to lose rather than finding a way to win, which I’m sure is very disappointing for the fans but I know the disappointment and frustration hits much harder in the dressing room.
Ten games this season we have lost by one goal or an empty net, where as 13 games we have conceded more than four goals and only once have we won where have conceded 5 goals or more That isn’t good enough.
We can’t legislate for the number of individual defensive errors that lead to goals against which is something the players have to take responsibility for My teams have always played with a lot of focus on the defensive side of the puck but with the season nearly at the half way point we need to have a much more focused and improved second half
