Good evening and welcome to this weekend's hockey It's fair to say it's been a tough start to the season on the ice with performance and results plus with injuries to key guys
I think as a group we have underperformed in a number of games and played to a good level in others, losing by one goal (or two with empty net clincher) on multiple occasions. We need that little more class in key moments, we need to have more resilience to shut down games from a leading position, but to lose two imports to injuries is frustrating
Devon has been out nearly 7 weeks now and recently was back on the ice skating in a non contact environment and then last Saturday Thomo blocked a shot, broke a bone and had surgery to secure it with pins this week, which is a real loss after he has made such a positive impact since he arrived
We are looking at around 8 weeks before he is healthy. Fortunately Silvs has stepped back on the ice from his current role behind the bench and is clear to see the class and leadership he brings Despite not playing for over 18 months he has great fitness levels and slots straight in on our top line
