Sunday 1st September
Good evening and welcome back to the start of another exciting ice hockey season here in Telford as we face the Swindon Wildcats in our second pre-season fixture of the new season
The new season soon comes around and with the poor summer weather we have experienced this summer I'm sure many of you can't wait for it to begin and give us something to look forward to over the weekends I'd be very happy for another month to get everything sorted, it's been a hectic few weeks after returning from holiday!!
With several changes to the roster I'm sure you will be looking forward to seeing the new guys in the team along with some old favourites What I can share is that we have had a very good pre-season week so far with a number of high quality on ice practices (all were at a good pace and intensity), plus fitness testing and some cardio work with our gym partner Aspirations
I look forward to seeing you all around the rink and on behalf of the club we are very grateful for the support
Enjoy the season ahead.
We caught up with Tigers’ new import Devon Skoleski to hear about his thoughts on his first season with Telford Tigers.

So here we are yet again! A warm welcome back to everyone, fans, players, staff, volunteers, officials and so many more As with every year the last few months have been a mad rush to get everything set up and in place for the new season No matter how early you start, there never seems to be enough time to get everything done and in place.
As we have seen, there has been some interesting player movement over the summer, the underlying constant being that the talent pool for homegrown Ice Hockey players appears to be shrinking, while the demand for such players continues to rise at pace Doubtless, there is an urgent need to develop young players of the future and hopefully Telford Tigers have a few of their own talents to showcase this season
Add into the mix some exciting new import players and it will be interesting to watch early results unfold Change in sport is inevitable.
The league looks more competitive than ever. It feels like this season will be contested more fiercely than ever before. For sure, Tigers don’t fear that prospect in any respect at all As we have always done over recent years, we will battle and compete for every inch of the ice and ultimately deliver the right outcome for our fans
Whatever happens, our plan is to pick up where we left off last season and then go again, but make sure that we are bigger, better, and faster. Our games against Swindon are always tough. They are also, always a great spectacle to watch
We thank all our sponsors, fans, volunteers, coaches, and off ice staff in advance of the challenging season to come As you already know, it doesn’t really matter who we play as we will always give our very best for you and will always be a force to be reckoned with – we have a reputation to protect.
Telford Tigers are certainly good to go for the forthcoming season, and as a community we are really looking forward to it Let’s have a great game of Ice Hockey this evening and please take care on your return when travelling home
Here’s to the future – we are all back and ready to go again!

Autocraft Telford Tigers are pleased to announce the return of defender Ross Connolly for the 2024/25 season. The 26 year old left handed shot defenseman returns to the club after being part of the Tigers 2021/22 National League title winning team. Despite missing a large part of that season through injury, Connolly made a good impression during his time in Shropshire and returns to the club to bolster the blue line.
Ross commented on his return to the club, “I’m excited by the opportunity to come back and play for such a successful club and Tom Watkins again. I’ve got great memories from the last time I was here and I hope we can have another memorable season this year. I can’t wait to get the season started.”
As the new season approaches, Telford Tigers 2 are diving into their pre-season preparations with determination and focus. The team is eager to build on the foundation laid in previous seasons and is working hard to ensure they start strong when the regular season begins
The team have made some adjustments to their roster over the off-season, bringing in new faces while retaining key players who provide leadership and continuity For the newcomers, pre-season offers a vital period to adjust to the team’s playing style and to integrate with their new teammates The returning players, meanwhile, are expected to set the standard, demonstrating the work ethic and commitment that Telford Tigers 2 are known for
A key component of their preparation will be the pre-season fixture against Widnes Wild, which provides an early opportunity for the Tigers 2 to test their mettle and fine-tune their game
For Assistant Club Coach Silverthorn, this game is about more than the final score “The fixture against Widnes is a great chance for us to see how we’re coming together as a team,” he said “We want to see the players execute what we’ve been working on in practice. It’s also a chance to try out different line combinations and see who clicks ”
