Good evening and welcome to this weekend’s Tigers hockey action. It’s our biggest weekend of the season to date for the club, with our National side facing playoff race contenders Solway Sharks on the road. It’s a must win at this point in time and would give us a five point lead. And of course, we have a cup final weekend for our Tigers 2 team, so best of luck to coach Andy Watt and the team.
We go into this weekend after playing midweek away to Peterborough where a poor performance led to a poor result and of course, we’re looking to bounce back quickly.
You may have seen the injury update in the week, unfortunately losing several guys until the end of the season is tough.
Josh Crawley has suffered a fractured ankle and is expected to be sidelined for the next 6 to 8 weeks. Ross Connolly is also facing a spell on the sidelines with a lower-body injury, which will see him unavailable for 6 to 8 weeks on top of Jake Price who we know will be unavailable for 9-12 months. Our D core took another battering with Noah still unavailable and on Wednesday night and it now certainly looks like we’ll be without Deakan Fielder for a number of weeks, after an upper body injury saw him leave the game.
These injuries are all out of our control, nothing we can do. We have to find a way right now for other players in the roster to step up and carry the additional responsibility...
Enjoy the hockey
