2. Schematic Design (SD)
SCHEMATIC DESIGN (SD): During this stage, architects and engineers create a number of rough sketches and drawings to show the design's fundamental ideas. At this point, preliminary investigations into local compliance and regulations are also finished.
At the end of this stage,AEC professionals obtain:

✓ All-level floor plans with standard plumbing fittings and openings
✓ Elevations of outside buildings showing representative openings and finishes
✓ Construction cross-section
✓ An ordinary wall portion
With the owner's approval, architectural engineers proceed to the following phase.
3. Design Development (DD)
The results of the schematic design phase are gathered and advanced throughout design development.
Finalizing the design and specifying elements like materials, window and door placements, and general structural features are all part of this phase.
At the end of this stage, construction professionals get:
✓ Floor plans including suggested design openings and plumbing hookups
✓ Overall measurements
✓ Dimensions of the structural grid
✓ Internal wall measurements
✓ Elevations of the outside showing the suggested design openings and finishes
✓ Additional structural components
✓ Wall sections under all common circumstances
✓ Common details
✓ Additional information to create a foundation for design items
Architectural engineers now use written specifications and drawings to give the project's vision form.
