Autodesk has not allowed the pandemic to affect its schedules and has released the next version of Advance Steel- Advance Steel 2021!
Autodesk in its constant endeavor to offer users better features in its software has brought several new enhancements in the 2021 upgrade of Advance Steel.

Features of Advance Steel 2021:
1. Better Control over Altering Beam Length
One of the limitations of the previous versions of Advance Steel was that it was not possible to alter the length of a beam in the 3D BIM(Building Information Modeling)model.
Advance Steel 2021 offers a new Lengthen option that enables users to extend and shorten the length of both straight and curved beams.
When a user moves the cursor to the beam endpoint the “Lengthen” option appears. Using this option, the user can modify the length of the beam along the system line as required.
2. Enhanced Flexibility when Modeling Holes and Bolts
Advance Steel 2021 facilitates replacing holes with connectors and back with the new “Change into Holes” option in the contextual menu.
By selecting anchors, users will be able to access this option and can replace connectors or bolts with holes as required. Users also have the flexibility to reverse these changes by choosing the relevant option in the contextual menu.
3. Creating User Sections Simplified
A new messaging framework while creating user sections in Autodesk Advance Steel 2021 enhances the efficiency in creating user sections.
Users can add the 2D user sections to the Advance Steel database with the help of the Generate All Sections button provided on the ribbon.
Details of the user sections created and those that could not be created and the reason that could not be created are all available on the User Section Generation Palette. These details enable users to resolve issues related to user sections easily.
4. Dedicated Monowills Panel Macro
Users can now place Webforge Monowills handrails and stanchion systems in their models with the help of the all-new Monowills Panel macro. This feature can be accessed in the Extended Modeling tab of the Ribbon.
Users also have the flexibility to manipulate several parameters such as Max Panel Length, Handrail type, etc. within the properties dialog.
5. Better Control on Part Numbering Behavior for Steel Components with Holes
Advance Steel 2021 facilitates part numbering using the holes in the steel components. To utilize specific holes as a numbering parameter, users need to choose the “Use hole(s)” for numbering in the Object Properties dialog.
6. Easier Tracking of Detailing Status of parts/assemblies
Users can easily look for parts for which single part shop drawings/ assembly drawings have been created with the help of the “search tool” in Advance Steel 2021. Further it is also possible to save the search request such that users can easily access it as and when required in the Project Explorer.
To simplify tracking of changes the search results are highlighted in a different color in the 3D model.
7. Enhanced Flexibility for Creating Shop Drawings
The flexibility to sort drawings per coating, lot/phase, material, name, model role or user attributes using Advance Steel 2021 increases the options for users to generate and organize detailed shop drawings on sheets.
Advance Steel 2021 offers Remove and Add Leader line options in the contextual menu to remove and add a leader line from a weld symbol.
9. Create Combined Weld Symbols
Welds that connect elements with the same single part numbers can be combined to create new weld symbols with the help of a new default setting provided in Management Tools in Advance Steel 2021.
10. Localization for US Markets
Advance Steel 2021 is installed in US English thereby offering a host of new features to users:
• Enhanced feet-inches representation in both drawings and BOM. • Cleaner shop drawings with better dimension hole configuration. • The all-new saw cut list with pictures.
11. Enhanced Compatibility with Revit
The Advance Steel Revit extension in the new version enables the transfer of parametric steel connections including the individual components such as plates, bolts, welds, etc., of the custom components.
12. Dynamo Extension
Dynamo extension in Advance Steel 2021 automates the creation of complex shapes and structures.
