DACO Founda on Golf Tournament Scheduled The 2014 Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, September 20th, at the Lockwood Golf Course. The three-person scramble will benefit DACO’s Annual Hunger Challenge. There will be 2 flights. A Wal-Mart grant will match the net proceeds, allowing for Ozarks Food Harvest monthly deliveries to Dade County. Entry fee is $35.00 per person with lunch included. Greenfield 2014 Homecoming Queen Hopefuls By Cle s McConnell Vede e Reporter
The Greenfield Wildcats will celebrate their annual football homecoming on Friday evening, September 5, as they play host to the Lockwood Tigers. Game time is 7 p.m. Highlighting the evening will be the crowning of the 2014 Homecoming Queen at 6:30 p.m. This year’s young ladies vying for the coveted title are: Kelsey Ritchie, Karsen Sims, Cassidy Brown and Robin Fare. The homecoming princesses are: Lauren Lizenbee, 9th grade; Shay Ferwalt, 10th grade; and Kati Jones, 11th grade. Ruptured Gas Line Closes Dade County Road By Cle s McConnell Vede e Reporter
A Dade County road, Route D, northeast of Golden City, reopened Thursday afternoon after being closed because of a ruptured eight inch gas line on the Kenny Ogden farm. A pond was being enlarged when the gas line was struck by heavy equipment about 9 a.m. Thursday, August 28. Missouri Gas Energy crews quickly responded to make the repairs. Traffic was re-routed while the repairs were being made.

Several Dade County citizens turned out to the Dade County Library in Greenfield last Tuesday to share their thoughts and opinions with a representative of Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-4). Cole Karr, Hartzler’s field representative in the county, listened and took notes as constituents voiced concerns on such topics as the violence involving ISIS in Iraq, the Environmental Protection Agency’s Waters of the U.S. plan, and recently approved legislation to address problems at VA hospitals across the country. A number of attendees expressed the view that the United States must maintain a strong defense in the face of this threat and others from around the world. The view regarding the Waters of the U.S. policy is that the proposal is a government overreach that could negatively impact
