La Plata Police Officer Receives Award

STOLEN PROPERTY RECOVERED IN GIFFORD

ROBERTS

SALSBERRY

Warrants were executed by Judge Phillip Prewitt for the arrest of 21-year-old Lynette Roberts of La Plata, Mo. and 22-year-old Frank Salsberry of Novinger, Mo. Both have been charged in relation to thousands of dollars worth of stolen property being hidden in South Gifford. Roberts has been charged with receiving stolen property, a class C felony. She remains in the Adair County Jail on a $25,000 cash only bond. Salsberry has been charged with possession of a controlled substance- methamphetamine. He is being held in the Macon County Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond. More charges are pending according to Macon County Sheriff’s Deputy Tyler Souther. According to the sheriff’s office of Macon County several burglaries have been unsolved in Macon and Adair County and the recovery of these stolen products are a result of these crimes. The stolen goods were found stuffed in a old school bus on the property in Gifford and some was found inside a single wide mobile home on the same property. The items ranged from tools, hunting gear, power tools and even generators. Now it’s a matter of figuring out who the rightful owners are. “There were several burglaries in the southwest part of Adair County,” said Adair County Sheriff Robert Hardwick. “We’ve contacted these owners of the property to have them come down and look. We’ve got, it’s probably a 54- to 60-passenger school bus that was full of property and stolen property and things of this nature so we’re going to have them come here to identify it as it’s all laid out in the open” “We’ve got some people on their way now to look this stuff over,” said Macon County Sheriff Robert Dawson. “A lot of it is consistent with things we have reported stolen, but it’s hard to get a perfect ID on it without the owners looking at it.”.
