Wayne Agee Neodesha, Kansas MASTER GARDENER TRAINING TO BE OFFERED IN MACON University of Missouri Extension Master Gardener training classes will be offered March 22-May 31, 2012, at the Macon County Extension Center. Classes will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:00-9:00 p.m and will include a wide variety of gardening topics including vegetables, fruit, trees & shrubs, herbs, lawn care, flowers and landscaping, diseases, insects and soils & fertilizer. To be a Master Gardener, you must attend 30 hours of classroom training AND provide 30 hours of volunteer service your first year after training. The training is open to all interested persons. Truck Accident - On Thursday morning, February 23, 2012 a semi truck owned by Cardwell-Noe Trucking out of Novelty, Missouri overturned on Highway 156, west of La Plata. The truck overturned after riding the ditch damaging the fence on the north side of the road. There were no injuries reported.

LOLLI BROTHERS LIVESTOCK MARKET HAS NO COMMENT ON FEDERAL INVESTIGATION
MATT THOMAS Matt Thomas (Brashear, Mo.) was named the AMC Pitcher of the Week, announced by the conference today. Thomas, who also plays in the outfield for William Woods, appeared twice and struck out four in his first appearance, helping secure a 2-1 win for the Owls over the Saints with 2.1 innings pitched. In his second appearance of the week, he picked up his second save of the year, pitching the final inning with two hits and an unearned run, wrapping up the week with a 0.00 ERA. He also helped the Owls at the plate, driving in the game-winning RBI in the Owls’ second 2-1 win of the series. Thomas is the son of Doug and Becky Thomas of Brashear.
A federal investigation involving Jim Lolli of Lolli Brothers Livestock Market in Macon, Mo. and former Macon Police Chief Scott Ziebarth, results in the arrests of seven people in various states. The seven were allegedly involved in the sale of black rhinoceros horns, in violation of the Endangered
Species Act. According to a press release from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, the seven arrested include: 1. Jin Zhao Feng, a Chinese national who allegedly oversaw the shipment of at least dozens of rhino horns from the United States to China. 2. Jimmy Kha, the owner of
Win Lee Cooperation; his son Felix Kha; and Mai Nguyen, the owner of a nail salon where packages containing rhinoceros horns were being mailed. 3. Wade Steffen, arrested in Hico, Texas and accused of being a supplier of rhinoceros horns. 4. Amir Even-Ezra arrested

in New Jersey on a felony trafficking charge in violation of the Lacey Act after purchasing rhino horns from an individual from New York at a service station off a New Jersey Turnpike. 5. David Hausman, an antiques expert, who has been charged with illegally trafficking rhinoceros horns and with creating false documents to conceal the illegal nature of the transaction, both in violation of the Lacey Act. The press release also indicates that federal agents have seized 37 rhinoceros horns and more than $1 million in cash and another $1 million in gold ingots.
