Curtiss Bunch was 2 for 4 with one run scored and an RBI in his Bradley Debut against Virginia Tech Friday, February 17th in Georgia.
ABSENTEE BALLOTS NOW AVAILABLE Absentee ballots are available at the Macon County Clerk’s office for the April 3rd, General Municipal Election. To request a ballot, please apply in person or mail a written request to the clerk’s office located at 101 East Washington St. Suite B, Macon, MO 63552, or fax a written request to 660-385-7203. Include the name of the person applying, the address to mail the ballot, reason voting absentee, and voter’s signature. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. until noon and 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The last day ballots may be voted in the office is April 2nd at 5 p.m. and the last day ballots may be mailed from the office is March 28th at 5 p.m. Deadline to register to be eligible to vote in the April 3rd General Municipal Election is March 7th at 5:00 p.m. Contact the office at 660-385-2047 for any additional information.
Brashear Homecoming King and Queen - The Brashear Tigers held their Homecoming on Friday night, Feb 17 vs. the Novinger Wildcats. Between the boys and girls games Royalty was crowned. LEFT - This years King and Queen were Joseph Woods and Morgan Taylor. RIGHT - This years Prince and Princess were Chance Hill and Allison Thompson.

The La Plata Girl Scouts met at the La Plata Methodist Church on Sunday, February 19th to plant 100 flower bulbs in recognition of their 100th Anniversary.
TWO ARRESTED FOR MANUFACTURING AND POSSESSION

During the evening hours of Thursday February 16, 2012, Macon County Sheriff’s Deputies, in conjunction with the Macon Police, executed a search warrant at 801 N. Ruby Street, in the City of Macon, regarding the manufacturing and possession of Methamphetamine. This stems from an investigation by the Macon County Sheriff’s Office. Numerous items were removed from the residence. Arrested were Russell Davis age 51 of Macon for Attempt to Manufacture Methamphetamine in residence within 2000 feet of
any school, and Unlawful use of Drug Paraphernalia – Methamphetamine. Also Arrested were Ryan Connell age 30 of Macon for Attempt to Manufacture Methamphetamine in residence within 2000 feet of any school, and Unlawful use of Drug Paraphernalia – Methamphetamine. Davis and Connell are being held in the Macon County Jail with No Bond, pending the filing of formal charges by Macon County Prosecuting Attorney Joshua Meisner.
