Grorich pled guilty in Necedah burglary BY EVA MARIE WOYWOD In Juneau County Circuit Court last week Eric Grorich, 48 years old, pled guilty to a 2012 burglary of a cabin in rural Necedah. Court records show that Grorich was present for the hearing and was transported from Kettle-Moraine Correctional Institution where he had been incarcerated, to appear in court for the plea hearing. The guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement Eric Grorich being reached with the Juneau County District Attorney's office. Representing Grorich at the hearing was defense attorney Elizabeth Mitchel. Assistant District Attorney Clifford Burden represented the State of Wisconsin, and Juneau County Circuit Court Judge John Roemer presided over the hearing. Background According to the criminal complaint on July 31, 2012 Juneau County Detective Shaun Goyette received a voicemail message relaying information that the caller had found a suspicious subject and vehicle at a property owned by a relative, which was a seasonal residence in Necedah Township. The caller was able to get a description and license plate of the black jeep the subject was driving Detective Goyette ran the license plate which came back to a vehicle registered to Alvin and Gloria Grorich. The vehicle had been reported as stolen through the Pittsville Police Department. After contacting Pittsville Goyette learned that it was believed the couple's son, Eric, had stolen the vehicle. The investigation showed that a shed had been broken into at the property in the Town of Necedah. An air conditioner was lying in a ditch next to the driveway that had been in the shed. A padlock had been cut on the shed. In September Probation and Parole contacted Goyette to inform him that Grorich had been arrested in Steven's Point and was being held in the Portage County Jail. At the time Grorich was arrested he had been driving the black jeep. Sentencing Judge Roemer sentenced Grorich to one year in prison and one year of extended supervision which will run concurrently with a three year sentence he is currently serving. The three year sentence stems from Grorich having his probation revoked from burglary cases from 2010. Additionally he must pay the victim $279.40 in restitution. Grorich has an open case in Portage County where he is facing a 2012 charge of a 4th OWI within 5 years and driving a vehicle without an owners consent.
