House On K Highway A Total Loss Vol. 150, No. 30 $1.00

Everton Fire Department responded to a house fire on K Highway, southwest of Everton early Wednesday morning, January 7th at approximately 1:45 a.m. A neighbor, Steve Baldwin, had made the call to 911. The house was totally engulfed when firefighters arrived. High winds enabled the fire to spread quickly. Responding to the fire were the Everton Fire Department, Greenfield Fire Department, Dade County Ambulance Service along with a Dade County Deputy. The home, belonging to Rosalyn Bewley, was a total loss. No one was living in the home at the time of the fire.

The Dade County Historical Society will be meeting at That Place at 6:00 p.m. Monday, January 19. If you have never been a member of the Dade County Historical Society, now is the time to join.
Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) has issued a Code Red Alert for all blood types. The current inventory is at a critical level, with less than a one day supply of blood in reserve for use by patients at 37 area hospitals. If you have been to the Hulston Mill Historical Park recently, you probably have noticed that we are updating our
painting, it was decided to frame the original andput it on display in order to perserve the artwork. The Society decided to use a copy of the original painting on the highway sign. The Dade County Historical Society appreciates all the work and attention to detail that Jessica, with some counseling from her artistic grandparents, put into this lovely painting. The community will enjoy her handiwork for many years in Dade County.

The 2015 edition of the Stockton Lake book is published and can be obatined free at Stockton Lake Assocation members. The assocation is comprised of area businesses who banded together to form a group to promote Stockton Lake. This year’s publication is 52 pages with information on all activites at Stockton Lake, event calendars, fishing and hunting inforamtion and tips, fishing guide info, and a list of members. Over 20,000 copies of the book are printed and distributed in Missouri and other states and are sent to people nationwide. The web siste for the assocation is stocktonlake.com.
