We count on the generosity of the community to help fund the cost of the gifts. You have been so kind to us the last several years and do hope that you will continue to help with this charity. There will be approximately 230 children that are in need of our help. We hope to make this a merrier Christmas for them. Please send your donations to Don Adams, Treasurer, 35 N. State Hwy 39, Greenfield, MO 65661; Scotty Holman, President, 746 College Street, Greenfield, MO 65661; Homer G. Ellis, Vice President, P.O. Box 126, Lockwood, MO 65682 or anyone of the members. There will be drop off boxes at the Dollar General Store in Greenfield as well as at the local banks, where you can leave a new toy if that would be your choice. Thank you, one and all!

Village of South Greenfield Moves Location

Staff Reports Photos by Cletis McConnell Vedette Reporters

Due to the Village of South Greenfield trustees moving into a historic church building (donated to the Village several years back) some of the South Greenfield residents are upset. Michelle Gass, Chairman of the Village, along with trustees, had to make the decision because when a contractor was called upon for repairs on the town hall it was found due to termite damage, their town hall needed repairs beyond funds to do so with. The trustees of the village moved forward and moved the town hall business into the church and placed temporary walls up for office space. Michelle Gass, chairman, visited with The Vedette and hopes this to be a temporary move. At this time funds to redo the town hall are unavailable. They decided to make use of a building that was donated to the Village. After looking over the old town hall building, the insurance ad-

juster stated the building was a total loss and unrepairable. A room, approximately 10x12, was put up in one corner of the historic church by trustees who donated paint and six days of their time. The walls were put up with screws and can be taken down if and whenever needed. The phone, water, internet and electricity has been transferred, ready for meetings at village hall #2.

The termite damaged floor in the town hall of Village of South Greenfield has rendered the building a total loss.
