Dennis Cornish Classic
The Dennis Cornish Classic will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Lockwood Fire Department will host a spaghetti supper to raise funds for a thermal imaging camera during this time.
DCART To Meet
Dade County Area Retired Teachers and School Personnel will meet December 10 at Kim's Breadbasket, Lockwood, at 11:30. A program on genealogy research is planned. Members are encouraged to bring food, paper, or hygiene products for the local food pantry.

Parades, Christmas Bonfire Set For December 6 By Cletis McConnell Vedette Reporter
Lockwood Lockwood The Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Lockwood Chamber of Commerce, will be held Saturday, December 6, beginning promptly at 1:30 p.m. The theme for this year’s parade is “A Great American Christmas”. The Chamber invites all businesses, organizations, clubs, churches, and anyone else that might enjoy the opportunity, to join their merry parade by entering a float, decorating a wagon full of grandchildren, riding your 3-wheel bicycle, or decorating your horse.
Penny White, cochair, says, “We would love to have you!! Any entry, as long as it’s tasteful and goes with the theme of the parade, is welcome.” If you decide to make an entry, please contact Penny White at Town & Country Tire, Janice Harrington at Liberty BankLockwood, or Brenda Richter at Great Southern Bank-Lockwood. If you would like to enter a car in the parade, you should contact Ella Whaley or Chipper Allen. If you don’t want to have an entry, please come and stand along the parade route and cheer for your favorites!

Greenfield Old Greenfield’s Fashion Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce, will be held Saturday, December 6, beginning at 11 a.m. Line-up begins at 10:15 a.m. at Main Street Baptist Church near the Greenfield football stadium, just south of town. Theme for this year’s parade is “Old Fashion Christmas.” There will be cash prizes for both religious
and non-religious floats. First place will receive $100; second place, $50; and third place, $25. Any entry, as long as it is tasteful and goes with the theme of the parade is welcome. For more information, contact Kim Kinder at 417-637-2040. Kids, come and meet Santa before the parade from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m,. at the Greenfield Junior High School cafeteria. Santa will have free gifts and cookies for you. A silent auction for gift baskets will be held during lunch period of chili and potato soup, sponsored by the Greenfield Ministerial Alliance.
