LOCAL NEWS 7th Grade Dragons Lose to Dumas Bobcats

The 7th grade Dragons met the Dumas Bobcats at Dragon Field for the last game of the season on Thursday. The Dragons moved the ball down the field and seemed to be keeping their focus quite well. Josh Dabner carried to the 32 yard line and then on the next play Quarterback Jante Wright gave it to Dabner again who made another first down. Jamari Gibson carried the next
play for a Dragon touchdown. Dabner carried for a two point conversion, but was stopped by the Bobcat defense. Score: Dragons 6, Bobcats 0. The Bobcats answered with their own touchdown. ons on their own 30 yard line,. Once again the Dragons started moving the ball, but a holding call brought them back to the 30 yard line. Gibson caught the ball and got the ball down to the Bobcat 18 yard line. A fumble on the next play changes possession to the Bobcats. The Bobcats started on their own 16 yard line. The Dragon Defense was holding strong not allowing much yardage for the Bobcats. On 4th and 4 the Bobcats quarterback kept the ball and was pushed out of bounds. A facemask penalty moves the ball to the 43 yard line for the Bobcats. A loss of one brought up 2nd and 11. Once again the Dragon Defense held tough bringing up 3rd and 8. A quarterback keeper but fell short of the 1st down. On 4th down the Bobcats were unsuccessful and Dragons took over on downs. 1st and 10 at the 50 yard line. T.J. Quarterback Jante Wright went up the middle for another Dragon touchdown. Terrance Tyson got the successful two point conversion. Score: Dragons 14, Bobcats 8. The teams lined up on the 30 yard line. A pass interference call brings the ball to the 45 yard line. Bobcats drove the ball to the 31 yard line of the Dragons, then called a time out. On 2nd and 1 quarterback kept the ball. The next play a completed pass brought another Bobcat touchdown. A successful two point conversion. Score: Dragons 14, Bobcats 16. The Dragons Gibson carried one last time and the game was over. Final Score: Dragons 14, Bobcats 16.
