American Legion Breakfast The Roy E. Carr Post 372 American Legion hosts a monthly breakfast on the 2nd Saturday of the month. The August breakfast will be served August 9, 2014. Serving will begin at 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The all you can eat breakfast consists of scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, biscuits, gravy, coffee and juice. The cost of breakfast is $5.00 per person with all donations gratefully accepted. The funds raised are used to support the activities of the American Legion and their service to the community especially the local veterans. We appreciate your support in this fundraising.
Lockwood Tigers 8th Annual Kickoff Classic Come out and help us kick off the 2014 Lockwood Tigers football and volleyball seasons, on Thursday, August 14, at 6 p.m., at the Lockwood High School. Everyone is welcome. Food and drinks will be provided. It will be a great chance to meet our high school, junior high school and Mighty Mite football and volleyball teams and coaches. After the meal, the cheerleaders will lead us in some games. All activities will be held inside, so don’t worry about the weather. Come out and support our kids. Hope to see you there.

Dee Vermillion, owner of Family Barber, located at 10 S. Main in Greenfield, has recently expanded and welcomes a new nail tech, Sidney Barthelomew, to the family. Sidney graduated from the Academy of Hair Design and joined the Family July 16. She will be running monthly specials. Call for prices. Janelle Spurlock, a
cosmetologist for 30 years and has been with the Family Barber for four years. Dee Vermillion, owner, has 15 years experience. She opened the shop in 2009. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday. The Dadeville gym renovation project is heading towards completion. The renovations, when complete, will include new seating, new lights, a new roof, a new gym floor, as well as air conditioning and other updates. A new parking area has been completed north of the existing Ag Building. This parking lot will serve as extra event parking and as the student parking lot. Construction of the building addition will begin this month and is scheduled to be complete this winter. During construction, visitors should enter the main building through the southeast set of doors. While there may be a few inconveniences during the construction phase, the district is excited about the many improvements to the facilities.
