New Salon Opens In Greenfield
Dade County Staff Listening Post Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-4) announces a 4th Congressional District listening post has been scheduled for Tuesday, August. 26, 2014, from 4 to 5 p.m., at the Dade County Library in Greenfield. All citizens are invited to attend.

Greenfield HISET Classes Begins September 4 Greenfield HISET Classes will start on Thursday, September 4, at the Dade County Health Department Lobby from 5:30 to 8:30. Fall classes will meet during the months of September, October, and November 2014. HISET is the name of the high school equivalency test once referred to as GED. Missouri State Department of Education no longer has a contract with GED testing. Students will need to bring their social security number, a notebook, a pen or pencil, an email address, and their current mailing address. If additional information is needed, you may call 417637-2345 and talk with Jill. Enrollment forms will be filled out and a number of placement tests will be given before instruction begins. You will need to attend at least 12 classroom hours before you plan to take the Missouri HISET test.

A new salon has opened its doors to Greenfield and the surrounding area. M. Hair Studio, located at 305 North Grand Street, will be offering full hair care in a relaxed atmosphere. They will be offering services to men, women and children, catering to everyone’s individual taste. The salon owner, Marissa (Vaughn) Castlebury is a 2007 graduate of Greenfield and a 2008 graduate of Missouri College of Cosmetology. Marissa has worked as a stylist in the Greenfield area for the last 3 1/2 years. Before working in Greendfield, she worked at The Hair Place in Mount Vernon and Ambiance Salon in
Springfield. Marissa, daughter of Rick and Laura Vaughn of South Greenfield, couldn’t be more excited to be opening a business in her hometown. She and her husband, Rocky, currently reside in Mount Vernon where they are expecting their first child in November. Whatever hair services you need, M. Hair Studio has you covered. A wide range of services are offered including haircuts, perms, single to multi-dimensional colors, special occasion styles and waxing. M. 19-Year-Old Injured In One-Vehicle Crash Story and photo by Cle s McConnell Vede e Reporter
A 19-year-old Greenfield young lady was injured in a one-vehicle crash early Thursday, August 14, 2014, on O Hwy., .07 mile east of Hwy. 160, near Everton. Amilia Wilkins was westbound in a 2004 Ford Escort at 7:30 a.m. whens she lost control, veered to the right and overturned, Dade County authorities said. Wilkins was ejected from the vehicle and was airlifted to Cox South hospital in Springfield for treatment. No other injuries reported. Responding to the scene was Wreck-OMended, Greenfield. Investigating the accident was Dade County Sheriff Max Huffman and Deputy Selvy.
