TROOP B OFFICERS TO CONDUCT DWI ENFORCEMENT Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces that sometime during the month of April and May 2012, Troop B officers will conduct DWI enforcement operations in Adair and Shelby counties. During these operations, extra troopers will focus their attention on selected highways with a goal of detecting intoxicated drivers, and hazardous moving, speed, and other traffic violations that cause traffic crashes.

Life and Times of Jean Emily Clark Ray Life is a journey and everyone has a story.

You may have known someone for years and visit with them daily, but do you know their story? Jean Ray of Bevier has just that, a story of her life that is truly one of interest. We will get to read first hand, over the next few months, life’s moments of a girl born in England that now calls Bevier, MO her home.

We lived in a two story stucco house with little tiny rooms. My first rec-

ollection of life was during WWII and I was three years old. The sirens had started to let us know the Germans were coming and we had to get our gas

masks on. They looked so ugly. I was too young to be scared and enjoyed the excitement.

My older sisters put the two younger ones under a big rough, splintery table. It was like playing house, but the real reason for the excitement at that time was my mum was having a baby. The next morning we were allowed to go upstairs and view the new arrival, our Bobby.

He did not get the attention that my older brother got from our dad because babies were becoming liabilities.

My next recollection was when I was in the clinic that we had to go to every month to be checked on for our heath.

I remember standing behind our mother, naked, waiting for my name to be called. They gave us a physical and sent us home with cod liver oil and orange juice. This government program was for preschool children and we were always afraid of doctors and nurses and very shy chil-

dren because we did not know what they were going to do. We did not cry and was pretty stoic for 4 years old, awaiting our inoculations and shots, even though the needles were thicker and longer back then.

We were very fortunate having lived across the road from school and even though we had to cross a quiet street, our mom would see us over the road. The worst thing that could have happened was to be nudged by the horse that pulled a cart up the street with our daily ration of milk. The neighbors, including dad would watch the house, waiting for a bit of manure for the rhubarb.

Whoever got there first with their bucket and spade was the winner.

Everything was utilized back then and I mean everything. My dad saves rubber bands, bits of paper and wood, old envelopes, etc…

ART STUDENT OF THE WEEK

The Good Old Days

Once in a while we all sit and talk about the “Good Old Days” as I’m sure everyone does. I can remember some great toys we used to have and now they don’t exist because of “safety issues”. One item I loved to play with was the “Knockers”. I don’t know if that was the actual name, or just what we called them, however they were taken away due to kids getting hurt. The toy was two huge glass or marble balls on each end of a string with a ring in the middle to hold on to. We used to really get them going fast and yes, they would hurt if you got hit with them. My thinking is this…If you don’t want your child playing with something for the fear of them hurting themselves or others, either supervise them or don’t buy it. Don’t sue the companies for making it. I can think of several times I not only enjoyed playing with them, but I did have a brother and I assure you they would have come in handy on occasion.

I’m just kidding, but surely I wasn’t the only one out there with the most aggravating brother ever! My brother is 3 years younger than me. I could take him until he was about a junior in high school, then I don’t know what happened. We used to fight constantly and I always won until the day he folded me up in the hideaway bed, that’s when I realized something happened and he became a giant. I then had to start using my brain and if that didn’t work, I could always out run him.

I really believe his purpose in life was to drive me crazy. He would do the most annoying things, I still get annoyed just thinking about them. It

LIEBHART never failed, every time I sat trying to watch TV, he would get a blanket and cover up with it, right at my feet, then yell “Kathy can’t find me”! You can only ignore that for so long. I would kick him, but usually got in trouble for it. My mom always said we were not to hit unless we got hit first, which is why my brother was always good at just touching me to aggravate and then laugh because I couldn’t hit him. He would just stick out his finger and lightly touch me as he walked by and would keep it up until we would have a knock down drag out in the middle of the floor.

And here I am getting annoyed just thinking about it. Next time I see him I think I may just have to slap him for it.

Actually we had some great times. We would play hide and seek after dark, mud fights in moms flower bed, catching crawdads in the ditch, all the things kids don’t do anymore. Well, except our kids, we still play hide and seek after dark, just on four wheelers now, and they are always coming in muddy. We actually had about 6 young adults in a huge mud fight just out our back door last summer and already 2 days of riding the trails and tracking in mud last week. This is when I miss living in town, it was a lot easier to keep my floors clean!

FAITH

From the Desk of the Worship Center Hope Hope is not wishing; hope is expecting. It is a terrible life to live without hope, not expecting anything to change. Because of addictions I spent twenty years without hope.

I wished for a better life but had no hope of it ever changing. I remember when Jesus came to me and offered a new life.

He said old things would pass away, and all things would become new. Even though I knew this was his Word; did I dare hope for such a thing! I had learned to live without hope or dreams. So many times I thought this time it would be different, but in a short while the hope was gone.

My past became my future again.

Twenty seven years ago I gave my life to Him, and He saved me. I would like to tell you that from that day I had hope. However, I decided to wait and see before I dared to expect

anything new. I was now saved but still very skeptical of ever having a normal life.

Before I was saved I found myself choosing the least miserable life. It was like wearing my cleanest dirty shirt. Then Jesus offered me a free and abundant life. The night I was saved I asked God to remove the compulsion to use drugs and alcohol to change my feelings. I would soon find that God could and would change my thinking - only God could make that difference in my life.

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

The bible is a book of hope We can expect God’s promises to happen I understand now I am a Child of God, and I expect to be treated as such. I am a new man with hope.

Memphis Buster Bevier Art Student Of The Week

The Bevier Art Student of the Week is Memphis Buster.

Memphis, a sophomore is the daughter of Carrie and Jeremy Chiarottino and Andy Buster. Her art work was created with pencil and color pencil.

EVENTS Spend May 5th in Marceline, MO Walsworth Community Center in Marceline, MO will host the 2012 Model Train Show on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

There will be a silent auction featuring 6 BNSF wildlife prints by Greg Garrett of NE as well as Santa Fe prints by John Winfield of TX. BNSF Train Engine will be on display along with miniature train rides in Ripley Park, private vendors and food concessions.

Admission will be $4.00 per person or $3.00 with a canned good. Children 12 and under FREE with paying adult.

Technology !!!

Technology !!! To some it’s a terrifying thing I know, I’m freaking out a little about it ,ok a lot. But then I am very old school and kind of set in my ways.

If you don’t get on board , it seems like every body’s talking in a foreign language; tweet that floppy ram disk through g-mail via Google and text me on my skyp page thing or just blog me . Well I would rather they didn’t blog me at all with all that but !!! I have sons and they are a couple tec. heads ( modern up to date groovy guys ) see I got it.

There is a saying you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, well you can, it’s just a lot harder. And to teach an old guy new technology; well why don’t we just build some rockets while we do some brain surgery at the same time. Ok, I got to admit I am picking up on some of this technology and it’s starting to make sense. For instance cell phones are your own personal everything, yup can’t wait until they have a fishing rod poked out of the top and you can calibrate where and how far your lure is going and oh yes shows where the fish are; aw ya baby now that’s a smart phone.

It is a fast growing crutch that people are getting so dependent on ( myself as well ) just to get out of bed in the morning and to check the weather , navigate with, e-mail, tx message identify solar systems to say the least and don’t forget you can call someone with it if you want to be a little old fashion and use it for what is was invented for.

Its replacing phone books, library books, magazines, yes guys, even the ones with pictures in them .WOW technology, today’s phone will be obsolete tomorrow or December 21st whichever comes first.

I am getting all wound up just thinking about it and getting thirsty talking about all this. I am just going to have to do the old fashion walk to the fridge grab a cold one go set on the porch before this key board burst into flames from this heavy pecking it’s taking.

So until next time keep an open mind cause it’s a terrible thing to waste.

TACO SOUP 2 pounds ground beef 1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix 1 1/2 cups water 1 (15 ounce) can mild chili beans 1 (15.25 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained 1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained 1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers 1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies 1 (1 ounce) package ranch salad dressing mix

In a Dutch oven or large kettle, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Add taco seasoning and mix well. Stir in remaining ingredients. Simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes or until heated through, stirring CHEESY BAKED POTATOES 6 – 8 Med. Potatoes ¼ tsp. Salt & Pepper Velveeta Cheese 1 Can Cream of Mushroom Soup

Peel and cube potatoes. Boil potatoes until they are medium done. Drain and place into large casserole baking dish or 9 X 12 glass baking dish. In a separate bowl, melt 1/3 of the 2lb. box of Velveeta Cheese, Cream of Mushroom Soup and Salt and Pepper. Pour mixture over potatoes and fold in until all potatoes are covered. Bake covered at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.

by Doris Noah CLASS OF 1951 MEETS Members of the Bucklin R2 graduating class of 1951 enjoyed their semi annual get together at Tall Paul’s April 19, 2012.

They met for a social hour at 4 with supper served at 5 o’clock Class members attending were: Chuck Brehm, Dorothy (Barry) Johnson, LeNell (Cordray) Hughes, Merta (Davis) Malloy, Russell Nickerson, Nelda (Franklin) Nickerson, Leona (Mills) Alexander, Alma (Mills) Nickell, Irene (Niemeier) Steffes, Bob Rulon, Joan (Larson) Clark, Carrol Switzer, Georgia (Wolfskill) Burstert, Reva (Wilson) Stiles, Dail Stone, Wilford Nowak and Darrell Yochim.Class mates that did not graduate with the class of ‘51 were Donna Gilbert and Marilyn (Henniger) Nowak. Spouses and friends attending were Ilah Brehm, Raymond Hughes, Joyce Rulon, Al Clark, Emily Switzer, Beverly Stone, Sue Rogers and Kay Gilbert.Class members take turns being responsible as hosts. Bob Rulon was host for this gathering with Carrol Switzer to host the next meeting which is scheduled for September 20, 2012.

PATSY ANN (BURRIS) DEATSCH PASSES AWAY Patricia Ann “Patsy” Burris Deatsch, age 68, passed away on November 6, 2011 in Iowa City, Iowa.

Private grave side services were held in the High Hill Cemetery to honor her life on April 23, the date of her birth.

Patsy was the daughter of Ralph and Eva Mae (Holt) Burris. She was born on April 23, 1943.

She is survived by three children; Vicki Childs, Bob Deatsch and Marvin Deatsch. One Sister, Brenda Allen and One brother, Harold Burris.

All live in Iowa City. One sister in law, Jeanne Burris, from Brookfield. Several grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Eva Mae Burris and one brother, Richard Burris.

P E O MEETS IN SMITH HOME Chapter BE of the P. E. O. Sisterhood met recently in the home of Carol Rae Smith in Brookfield.

President Susan Lane conducted the business meeting. Emily Switzer led devotion.

Carol Rae Smith was acting secretary. Exemplification of the ceremony of initiation was held prior to the business meeting.

A donation was given to the after prom party. The graduate to receive the P E O scholarship was chosen.

Amendments for convention were read. Dorothy Harrington and Pearl Miller had audited the books.

An invitation from Chapter R was read for the group to attend a special meeting on Tzi Chi, a Chinese art, on May 9, at the YMCA .

Susan Lane reported making and selling eight casserole carriers as a money making project.

Perarl Miller gave antique cotton feed sacks to the chapter for a fund raiser. Carole Kinnison is in charge of these projects.

Refreshments were served by the hostess. The May meeting will be in the home of Emily Switzer.

COUSINS VISIT Dail and Beverly Stone, O’Fallon, Mo spent the night in the home of Carrol and Emily Switzer after the Class of ‘51 reunion in Bucklin.

The next morning guests in the home of Carrol and Emily for breakfast and a morning of visiting were Dail and Beverly Stone, Gary Lane and Mark and Charlotte Nickerson. Dail, Carrol, Gary and Charlotte are cousins.

SPAGHETTI DINNER A SUCCESS The Bucklin Community Association recently served a spaghetti fund raiser dinner. Fund raiser chairperson, Lori Davis, expressed appreciation to everyone who came to eat, those who cooked and those who served the dinner.

All proceeds go toward the annual Bucklin Homecoming along with other community events.

The winner of the $500 cash raffle was Terry Epperly, Bucklin. Terry and his wife, Marilyn, recently moved to the area. What a nice welcome for our new Bucklin citizens. Congratulations, Terry!

CIVIC CLUB NEWS President Debbie Reid opened the April meeting of the Bucklin Civic Club leading the group in the club collect. Thirteen members and one guest responded to roll call.

Secretary Lynn Shipley read the minutes of the March meeting. They were approved.

Peggy Finney gave the treasurer’s report which was approved as read.

Peggy gave an account of proceeds from the club’s lunch stand at the Heartland Wildlife Ranch’s auction at the old school house lot.

Marj King, Courtesy chairperson reported 8 cards sent since the last meeting.

Among business items discussed were the two scholarships to be awarded, persons responsible for hanging the flags were notified, two families were chosen to receive the new neighbor baskets this month.

The yard of the week sign is being placed in deserving spots already this year due to the early

spring. (This usually isn’t done until May.) Plans for the Citizen’s Appreciation dinner on April 26, were finalized.

Marj King will provide the door prize this month.

It is time to plant flowers and do the semi annual trash pick up.

The trash pick up is scheduled for April 28, with a rain date of May 5. Members are to meet at the park at 10:00 and go from there.

Following the business meeting and benediction Lynn Shipley gave a brief program about the American Indian. Lynn has gathered an extensive collection of Indian art work, literature and history. She invited the club members to come by her house and see the collection of items she has in a room devoted entirely to a Native American theme.

Refreshments were served by hostesses Jasmine Stark and Lynn Shipley.

The May meeting will be on the 17th with Debbie Reid and Pattie Gilmore serving as hostesses.

A PEEK AHEAD Be preparing for the city wide yard sale. Annie Jones called this morning to say she and Verlain Frye were “shooting for June 9th”.

More about that later; this is just a heads up to get us started digging out what we want to offer that we no longer need.

NATASHA NICOLE HOERMAN PASSES Word was received of the death of the late Orval and Florence Simmons great granddaughter, Natasha Nicole Horeman.

Natasha died in Coral City, Florida on April 13, 2012.

She is survived by five children , one sister, Judy Watson and her father, David Hoerman all of Florida and her aunt Judy (Ferguson) Cady from Galveston, Texas.

ODDS ‘N ENDS Little Jenny wren is inspecting the houses we have put up for her and is very welcome, however, she is alone. Where is the Mr ? Until he shows up she sings enough for both of them.

Everything is early this spring.

Our red rose that usually blooms the end of May or even early June is full of bloom today.

Another annual spring event occurred here on Walnut Street today.

Two speckled chest baby robins were trying to fly. That prompts me to hustle and grab Pokey and Miss Martha Stewart before they grab the baby birds. Off they go to be shut up in the garage for a couple of hours. Our two lazy cats come alive when they spot such temptations. (Yes, the scene is just what you may imagine with a well past 70 year old woman, two agile cats and two frightened little birds all scrambling and flapping under the cedar trees. Add the squawking parent birds overhead and you get the picture.)

by Jayne Roberts GOOD INTENTIONS CLUB The club met April 5 at the Callao Legion Hall to sew lap robes.Roll call was answered by Mariam Farrington, Jayne Roberts, Shirley Kindle, Lauretta Yutz, Delia Morgan, Evelyn Dunham, Melivna Blew, Violet Watson, Cheryl Satterthwaite and LouiseDavis.

The business meeting was called to order by President Farrington.

Minutes of the last meeting were read by Louise ,and the treasurers report was given by Lauretta. Both were approved.

Members were advised to be thinking where they would like to go eat for the summer meetings, which are held once a month.

They were also reminded of the City Wide Garage Sale that is to be held May 5.

Jayne and Lauretta presented readings. Happy Birthday was sung to Evelyn.

After the business meeting adjourned Jayne gave the prayer and three members to lunch at 36 & 3 Cafe.

The next meeting will be May 3 at the Legion Building.

COFFMANS ATTEND ALUMNI REUNION Clifford and Cayrol Coffman recently attended his alumni reunion at Mt. Zion Bible School, where he graduated in 1949 in Ava. There were 99 in attendance for the catered meal.Delbert Scott, president of Kansas City College and Bible School of Overland Park , Ks. was the speaker.

The Coffmans spent Saturday and Sunday night with Walter and Dorothy Woods of Springfield.

Walter is Cayrol’s cousin.

Everyone attended the Church of God ( Holiness) in Springfield on Sunday, where they met more cousins, Ed and Noreen Bistline of Kimberling City. After church they had lunch at the Cedar Resturant in Springfield.

The new stage fund currently has around $7,000 and the committee is still taking donations so that they can reach the goal of $15,000 to $20,000. The new stage will reflect the basics of the previous raised stage, at 20 feet deep and 30 feet long. If funds allow, the committee has approved the addition of two dressing rooms on the back of the stage, like there was before. In the meantime, donations for the stage fund are still being accepted via mail at CHF Attn: Stage Fund, PO Box 74, Callao, MO 63534.

In other old business. plans for the upcoming Saturday, May 19th Fiesta fundraiser were discussed and finalized.

There will be an all-you-caneat spaghetti dinner and concert of local talent at 5:30 p.m. that evening at the Callao C-8 School gymnasium. It will cost $10 per person and a coupon for five dollars

off a total family purchase will be featured in the newspaper the week prior to the event. The committee is seeking donations of spaghetti, parmesan, garlic bread, beef/deer burger, spaghetti sauce, salad, croutons and dressings.

Any of the listed donations are being accepted at Callao City Hall, during regular business hours, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., until Monday, May 14th.

New Business: It was decided that a Fiesta grounds mowing volunteer sign-up sheet be placed in the Callao post office foyer. The sheet requests that Callao residents volunteer for a turn to mow the grounds, due to a lack of funds in the general Fiesta account.

Legionnaires Honor Illinois Airman

Wednesday afternoon, at the Marceline Mount Olivet Cemetery, The AmericanLegion Bucklin Green Hills Post 57, Callao/New Cambria Argonne Memorial Post 360, and Sons of The American Legion Squadron 57 had the privilege to conduct military rites for Donald E. Bulen a twenty year United States Air Force veteran.

Bulen, retired at the rank of Staff sergeant and resided in Monmouth, Illinois, participating in The American Legion, Boy Scouts, and Masonic Lodge.

by Carrie Chiarottino This past weekend was a momentous occasion for many Bevier High School students. Prom for many students and parents is a fun and nerve racking event. For the ladies the preparations probably began months ago with finding the perfect dress and getting the perfect tan. The boys, in my opinion, have it pretty easy they need to get their tux fitted only a week in advance and clean up the vehicle, one of which they have or have borrowed and make sure they order the flowers. In some situations the girls take that job over too because the flowers and ribbons must match the dress and they would hate for it to be wrong.

Better yet, the boy and the girl’s parents would hate for it to be wrong.

Nothing worse than the tragedy of a wardrobe malfunction or flower fiasco or hair flop on prom night.

Prom preparations were very low key at this house.

My sister is a hair dresser and an EMT. Although she is not a practicing cosmetologist, she is currently furthering her education to becoming a paramedic, she found time in her busy day to come over and fix Memphis’ hair at our home. What a huge advantage that was we didn’t have to set in a beauty shop or have to get her hair fixed at 8 a.m. on prom day. Memphis was getting the finishing touches put on her hair and her date arrived. Make-up was next and her date decided to play a game of checkers with her father, which helped pass the time for both of them. She slipped her dress on and her friends and their dates showed up. With the girls in Memphis’ room making last minute adjustments on lipstick the

boys were starting to complain how hot the were getting with the tux’s on. I ran around the house opening windows hoping a breeze would bring them relief. Then it was time to go outside and take pictures.

I snapped picture after picture and Memphis had come up with some ideas of prom pictures off the internet. After staging some pictures they were ready to go back in the house and take a break with some sodas and water. The boys shucked those tux jackets and cooled off for a bit. Soon it was time for the kids to leave so they would be on time for the grand march. They went out and got in their vehicles some wanted pictures of them and their car and others had snap shots taken as they were leaving.

They all made it to the school on time which is more than I can say. I was looking at the pictures I had taken and my son, Garet came in and said, “Mom its 5:55 pm don’t you think we should go?” I jumped up and sure enough that was the time, so we all jumped in the car and headed to the school.

We were not late but it was too close for comfort for me. We found our spots to stand and the announcements started. My husband loved the timing but like I said it was too close for comfort for me. Anyway, the Bevier High School students gave anyone on the red carpet a run for their money.

The boys were so handsome and the girls absolutely breath taking. I hope a fun time was had by all who attended prom and the after prom party this year. A special thank you to Trinette Peukert for every year organizing the after prom party and doing such a great job. Also, thank you to the administration at Bevier School.

The last day of school this year will be Friday, May 18th. We will have graduation on Thursday, May 17th at 7:00 pm. The ceremony will take place in the gymnasium. On Friday, May 18th, we will have our annual Awards Assembly. The assembly will take place in the gymnasium and begin at approximately 9 am. We will have an early dismissal on that last day – dismissing at 12:30 pm.

This week the third and fourth grades are finishing their MAP testing schedule. We will also be completing make-up tests for any students who were absent during testing time. The students have been working hard and taking their performance seriously. We congratulate them on their efforts.

The students in grades kindergarten through second will be taking ITBS [Iowa Test of Basic Skills] tests the second week of May. It is extremely important that students be in attendance, have plenty of rest and start their day with a good breakfast. This will put students in position of doing their best work on their tests. The results of the ITBS tests are used to evaluate the student’s progress from year to year.

The students in grades 3-6 attended the Children’s Literature Festival on Friday, April 20th at Truman State University. The students listened to three authors tell about their writing process. The students had read books written by those authors and asked questions related to that author’s writing. Many of the students were able to get books they had purchased autographed by the author that had written them. This opportunity for the students is wonderful! The teachers and the students enjoyed in immensely.

On May 10th, students in grades 3-8 will be traveling to Jefferson City to tour the Capitol Building. While there, the students will visit the legislative chambers to watch our legislators work, will view the Thomas Hart Benton paintings, experience the Whispering Gallery and visit the History Museum. The tour has been arranged by Senator Stouffer’s office. Representative Shively will provide lunch for the students and visit with them during that time. Afterward, the students will visit the Missouri Highway Patrol Headquarters and Museum. Students are looking forward to learning more about Missouri.

The Bevier Wildcats defeated the defending Class 1 Champion LaPlata Bulldogs 7-1 last Monday night. For Bevier; McKenzey Pipes had 2 doubles, John Fiquet 3 singles, Jonathan Basler had 2 singles , Spencer Hendricks, Louis Fiquet, and Logan Christensen each added a single. Seth Shurvington had a double.

Pipes pitched 7 innings, only giving up 1 run on 3 hits. He walked 3 and struck out 7.

The Wildcats record improved to 3-2.

Bevier then traveled to Novinger Wednesday the 25th.

They lost 16-11. For Bevier; McKenzey Pipes had a double and a single. Logan Christensen 2 singles. Caleb Richardson, Jonathan Basler, and Caleb Richardson each had a single. John Fiquet had a great night with a single, double, and a homerun.

This now puts their record at 3-3 for the season.

Bevier Junior High And High School Track Results Eleven teams competed on a brisk, windy day at Green City, Wednesday, April 18th. Bevier teams competed well and had good results.

KAYLEE JOHNSTON By: Kaylee Johnston Have you ever been out in the country and stopped to listen to the birds whistle a tune, or to a stream sloshing water all over the rocks? Life in the country can be unimaginable to the human eye. In cities all you hear is loud trucks, sirens and horns. I for one do not feel secure in the city, now the country is a different story.

You don’t hear a lot of vehicles or sirens most of the things you hear are animals. I would pick the country way before I would even think about living in the city. In my perspective the country is just soothing; it has that sense of safety and security. It’s

so unique and there are many advantages to living in the country.

If you have to go buy one of those noise making machines to help you sleep at night you can change all that in the country, all the sounds on those machines are just outside your house. If you like animals then you should live in the country where you can have them. We have so many animals, our yard holds around 50 chickens, one turkey, one peacock, two geese, and four ducks.

One thing you have to have living in the country is responsibility. The animals can’t take care of themselves so you have to go out to feed and water them. Some people will say that it’s just a hassle but I like being with my animals. Another advantage is you can breed your animals such as cattle or horses and sell them. It may take a lot of money to raise them but it’s all worth it in the end. If you like to fish or hunt it is all around you, I like to be surrounded by the woods and streams.

You can buy a lot of fun things too, like four-wheelers, Polaris side-by-sides, and so many others. Outside of city limits the utilities are sometimes cheaper plus a lot of the housing so you can buy instead of rent. The houses in the country are not little one bedroom houses or apartments. If you have a large family or even a smaller one the country is a great place to live and raise a family.

So next time you are out in the country just take a chance, stop smell the flowers, go exploring, listen to the birds sing a tune, or the water sloshing on the rocks and I will guarantee that you will be star-struck.
