SINGER RICKIE LEE TANNER GIVES BACK TO COMMUNITIES
Rickie Lee Tanner performed Wednesday night at the Bevier Homecoming. Rickie and his wife Tonya not only run the entertainment circuit with limited time between shows, but they are sure to spend that small amount of time they have giving back to the people in the communities. Rickie and Tonya Tanner spent Thursday entertaining residents and guest at Macon Health Care and Loch Haven Nursing Homes in Macon. Their schedule was leading them back eastwardly and they were sure to bring
a little joy to Macon before leaving the area. “A few years ago, we had a friend in the nursing home and Rickie played for them. We visited with the residents and they talked about how they use to attend the fairs and enjoyed the music. We thought we could give back by bringing some of the fair to them”. Says Tonya Tanner Rickie Lee is a Missouri native. He grew up in Belton, MO, a suburb of Kansas City, and currently resides just outside of Washington, MO. Recently, Rickie has been touring the Midwest to promote the title track off of his album, “Fast Lane”. A previous demo recording of “Fast Lane”, has already hit #1 on the independent, unsigned artists chart as tracked by the music research team at soundclick.com. Currently, he is recording a new album in Nashville produced by Rob Daniels, multi-instrumentalist Jake Clayton, and international superstar/drummer for the band Tesla, Troy Luccketta. The album, titled “This Here” is scheduled for release in late 2012. Three things matter most to Rickie Lee, God, country, and family. It is his sincere desire to support all of these things through song. Rickie Lee is more than just a singer. He is an ac-
complished songwriter and musician. He has won numerous singing and songwriting competitions and also made an impressive showing in contests such as Nashville Star, Pop Stars, and the Colgate Country Showdown where he was a state finalist. He has performed for audiences with numbers in the thousands, and has opened for numerous successful recording artists over the years including Gary Allen, Montgomery Gentry, Mark Wills, The Dixie Chicks, and Justin Moore. You may have also seen him on television shows like Smart Country and Nashville on Stage. Rickie Lee also schedules 4 to 5 performances each year with all the proceeds going to charities supporting Children and Soldiers. Recently scheduled charity events for the USO Missouri will be Sept. 9th in St. Louis and Oct. 14th in Fort Leonard Wood. Rickie and his wife Tonya will continue entertaining as long as they are able and the two will tell you they have been blessed throughout their trials of life. The two have a dream of retiring and purchasing a theatre to hold “Opry Style” Shows as well as allow kids to perform and teach them all they have learned on the circuit.
