Farm Bureau held their 53rd annual convention on August 12 at the DeWitt Community Center. President of Farm Bureau, Randy Veach spoke to the crowd along with U.S. Senator John Boozman about the importance of agriculture in our nation’s economy. North Arkansas County Farm Family, The Greg

Fisher family and South Arkansas District Farm Family, The Sloan Hampton Family were both recognized for being chosen as farm families. U.S. Senator’s Stephanie Flowers, Jonathon Dismang, and John Boozman were also in attendance at the convention. Heath Long presented Judge Sonny Cox a

plaque for his many years of service to Arkansas County. Kevin Wingfield announced the present Farm Bureau scholarship recipients: Cole Counce, Hunter Harris, Ryan Holbert, Dagan Knoll, Gunnar Knoll, Jake Orlicek, Gunnar Stone, Kaitlyn Wilson, and Koby Wilson.

ARKANSAS COUNTY FAIR SCHEDULED

The Arkansas County Fair is scheduled for September 8 - 13, 2014. This year’s Fair theme is “Arkansas County - A Sportsman’s Paradise.” County Fair Tabloids can be picked up at the Extension Office in DeWitt.
