Goals

During the summers of 2017 & 2018, Darcelle attended Be WISE (Women In Science & Engineering) Camp at Denison University for one week. The camp was a great experience for Darcelle, in which she developed a strong interest in Forensic Science. Darcelle plans to study Criminology/Forensic Science in college and hopefully study abroad. Having an interest in science & medicine has opened many doors for Darcelle, which allowed her to participate in two internships; ASPIRE and RISE.

Participants in the ASPIRE Nurse Scholars Program receive career information and valuable skills that will aid in their path of higher education, nursing school, and beyond. CSSM and Cleveland Clinic collaborate on the Research Intensive Summer Experience (RISE) program; a professional laboratory setting which provides students with the opportunity to perform biomedical research first-hand. Most Memborable Moment

Darcelle loves to travel, the summer of 2019 she was accompanied by her Girl Scout Troop and her mother to London, England; Paris, France and Lucerne, Switzerland. This trip to Europe was one of her best experiences ever. The summer of 2022 Darcelle had an opportunity to travel to Italy and Greece, but with disappointment had to decline due to accepting an internship with RISE.

Darcelle is an active book club member and environmental club member at her school. Darcelle loves her classes; she has attained many awards because of her love of school. She has received high honors in biology, math, and history. Her experiences have challenged Darcelle in many ways; she hopes her college experience will be just as rewarding.

Community Activities

Darcelle has been involved in community service; she helped lead a toiletry drive that distributed supplies to the homeless. She has volunteered at the Cleveland Food Bank and is overjoyed with her current responsibility as a teacher assistant.
