ANNUAL REPORT 2021 Mission:
Teen Kitchen Project Builds Healthy Communities Through Food
LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Dear TKP Supporters, 2021 presented a continued urgency to address food security for the critically and chronically ill in Santa Cruz County and thanks to supporters like you, Teen Kitchen Project was there. Our team worked to ensure those living with illness received uninterrupted weekly meal delivery despite escalating costs and supply chain disruptions. In 2021, teens worked 9,600 hours preparing 79,546 meals with love and care to be delivered to clients. Delivery Angels drove over 25,000 miles (the equivalent of the circumference of the earth) making 7,204 deliveries to households all over Santa Cruz County. We hired our first Registered Dietitian who works with our Executive Chef to analyze our meals and engage clients on creating achievable health goals and engaging class content for our teen chefs, and hired our first Delivery Driver to ensure clients received their meals without delay throughout the week.

As we approach our 10 year anniversary (September of 2012 was our first delivery), I am awestruck by the hardworking and compassionate team at TKP and grateful to our supporters for ensuring we continue to be there for the community.
