On 1 December 2021, TEDxKingsPark explored our oceans with four remarkable speakers: Dr Mick O'Leary, Dr Emily Lester, Dr Adrian Gleiss and Professor Alan Jamieson. Underneath Otto, the blue whale skeleton of the Museum of Western Australia Boola Bardip, the audience heard fresh ideas about how predators provide essential fear on reefs, what it's really like at the bottom of the Mariana Trench, how a treasure trove of indigenous archaeology is still to be found around Australia, and the connection between song birds and sharks.
