ABOUT ME
ello, my name is Teddy Rosen a queer illustrator and designer. I am a Saint Louis native and cannot wait to expand my brand elsewhere. I studied at St. Charles Community College where I received my AFA in Graphic Design; as well as Webster University, where I am finishing up my BFA in Illustration. I tend to explore topics of LGBTQIA+, mental health, personal situations as well as music in my work; which all in a sense play into each piece. I am a 3 time Board Piece winner and the Spring 2022 Drawing Category first-place winner at St. Charles Community College.

s an illustrator, I make my work for my own mental health. I use each material and medium as a vice to really understand how I feel over a subject at hand. I typically make a playlist and board for at least every idea I have and or every piece I make so I can get into the headspace of creativity. I find inspiration from my own life events, other artists as well as vintage designs and fashion. I am big into fashion illustration and love to incorporate the patterns and textures used in those works within my own.

In 2020, my mother had a stroke. This event was when I truly grew up. Here in this series I brought my thoughts and feelings to life.

hen it comes to a career, I see something longterm in narrative illustration. I have worked both digitally and physically on my narrative work. I really apprecaite the art of book creating and all of the steps that go into a final product. Creative concepting is definetly my favorite part of making a long term project.

orking with characters was the reason I wanted to become an artist. I have come full circle now to include them in the majority of my work; whether realistic or stylized, they are my muse. I make stories for each character no matter their importance to the project as a whole. Everyone and every character matters.
