Stajnbech: Pinot Nero e Pinot Grigio Due vitigni internazionali reinterpretati con eleganza, freschezza e piacevolezza

dei Superiori. Alle Giornate del Pinot Nero 2024 in Alto Adige, l’annata 2021 ha ottenuto, nell’ambito del Concorso Nazionale Pinot Nero, il premio come miglior vino regionale Veneto tra 102 vini provenienti da 9 regioni, decretato da una giuria, composta da enologi, sommelier e giornalisti di settore provenienti da tutte le regioni vinicole partecipanti.

Viene vinificato con criomacerazione prefermentativa in fermentini di acciaio inox, a temperature più basse

rispetto alla norma per i vini rossi, per mantenere i profumi fruttati e l’eleganza. Ha un color rosso rubino scarico, al naso arriva elegante, con sentore di frutti di sottobosco, ciliegia e sfumature di viola mammola.

Ha tannini importanti ma, grazie al processo di affinamento in botti di acciaio inox e una piccola percentuale in barriques di rovere francese, regala un buon equilibrio con un retrogusto fine e persistente.

inot Nero e Pinot Grigio: due vitigni internazionali coltivati in tutto il mondo. Il primo, considerato il più nobile ed elegante tra i vitigni a bacca rossa e da cui originano i più pregiati vini rossi del mondo, è particolarmente difficile e complesso sia in fase di coltivazione che di vinificazione, e molto sensibile al terroir. Per questo rappresenta una sfida notevole per qualunque enologo, portando risultati variabili annata dopo annata anche nelle aree più vocate. Il secondo è una varietà da cui si producono vini bianchi espressivi e di buona struttura. Introdotto in Italia è diventato un’importante protagonista della scena enologica di Friuli, Veneto e Alto Adige.

La zona del Lison Classico dove si trova l’azienda, è stato storicamente uno dei primi riconosciuti come di pregio per la produzione vinicola. Vanta un terreno argilloso con carbonato di calcio molto vocato per la viticoltura, da cui si ottengono vini strutturati, ma anche con buone acidità, fattore questo che dona longevità ai vini, anche ai bianchi.

ottenuto negli anni svariati riconoscimenti che lo hanno reso tra i vini aziendali più apprezzati.

Stajnbech lo produce in versione DOC Delle Venezie, denominazione conosciuta in tutto il mondo per lo stile italiano. Proviene da uve a bacca rossa e si esprime nella sua versione in bianco tipicamente proprio nella zona di produzione dell’azienda.

Il colore è giallo verdolino con riflessi delicatamente ramati che richiamano la buccia dell’uva. Pur con una sua struttura, ha una bella freschezza e buona acidità, data in particolare dalle note di mela verde.

Entrambe queste referenze pur se con caratteristiche molto diverse, regalano note di freschezza ed eleganza che li rendono adatti anche ad essere bevuti nella bella stagione.

Stajnbech è un’azienda vitivinicola a conduzione familiare situata a Pramaggiore (VE), tra Venezia e Trieste, nel cuore di una terra dal ricco passato, anticamente chiamata il Vigneto della Serenissima. Risale al 1990 il primo vigneto piantato da Giuliano Valent e Adriana Marinatto, che poi nel 1991 fondano la cantina.

Nata dall’ambizione di raccontare una storia in un bicchiere di vino, questa realtà veneta si distingue per la cura meticolosa riservata ad ogni fase della produzione.

Da sempre, infatti, Giuliano e Adriana hanno scelto di puntare alla qualità, ricercando costantemente l’eccellenza, applicando una filosofia che crede nel valore di un prodotto sincero e genuino, e nella passione per il proprio lavoro. Uno stile perfettamente racchiuso nel motto di famiglia: “Coltiviamo Armonie”. Le armonie per Stajnbech sono quelle della natura ma anche delle persone che condividono i medesimi valori di professionalità e dedizione, uniti all’amicizia e al senso di condivisione, tutti elementi che risuonano tra vigneti, cantina e azienda come in una grande sinfonia corale.

L’area in cui sorge la cantina, al confine tra Veneto e Friuli, gode di un clima temperato che unito al suolo ricco di argille grigie consentono alla vite la sua massima espressione.

Dai 17 ettari di uve di proprietà, rigorosamente selezionate, si producono vini artigianali di altissima qualità, ottenuti ponendo molta attenzione al rispetto dell’ambiente sotto il segno dell’ecocompatibilità, in vigneto come in cantina.

I vini si distinguono per la spiccata personalità che sanno esprimere e raccontano le tradizioni enologiche del Veneto, coniugandole coi gusti internazionali. Le linee di produzione si dividono in Superiori e Classici ai quali si aggiungono anche le bollicine con il Metodo Classico pas dosé Imagine. Stajnbech: Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio Two international vines reinterpreted finely, freshly and amazingly

P

inot Noir and Pinot Grigio: Two international vines grown all over the world. The first renowned as one of the most noble and elegant red berry vines is quite difficult and complex in cultivation and vinification, and also very sensitive to terroir. That is why it is a challenge to any winemaker, and it brings variable results harvest after harvest also in the most vocated areas. The second offers expressive and well-structures white wines; it has become an important wine in Friuly, Veneto and Alto Adige winemaking panoramas.

The Lison Classico area, where the winery is located, has always been one of the first areas to be recognised as valuable for wine production.

It boasts clay soil with calcium carbonate very suitable for viticulture, good for structured wines, but also with good acidity, a factor giving wines, even the whites, long life.

Among the company’s flagship wines there is Pinot Noir, included in the Superior line. At the Pinot Noir Days 2024 in South Tyrol, on occasion of the National Pinot Noir Competition the 2021 vintage was awarded as the best regional wine from Veneto among 102 wines from 9 regions, by a jury of oenologists, sommeliers and wine journalists arriving from all the participating wine regions.

The method follows is pre-fermentation cryomaceration in stainless steel fermenters, at lower temperatures than usual for red wines, as to maintain fruity aromas and elegance. It has a light ruby red colour, elegant smell with hints of bushy fruit, cherry and nuances of violet. It has important tannins, but thanks to the ageing process in stainless steel barrels and in French oak barriques, it offers good balance with a fine and persistent aftertaste.

Pinot Grigio, as a Classic, has been awarded many prizes over the years, turning it one of the most popular estate wines.

Stajnbech produces it in the DOC Delle Venezie version, a denomination known the world over for its Italian style. It is made with red grapes and its white version is typical in the company’s own production area. The colour is greenish yellow with delicately coppery hues reminiscent of the grape skins. Despite its structure, it offers nice freshness and good acidity, given by green apple notes in particular.

Although with very different characteristics, both wines offer freshness and elegance that make them also suitable for Summertime.

Stajnbech is a family-run winery located in Pramaggiore (Venice), between Venice and Trieste, in the heart of a land with a rich past, formerly known as Vigneto della Serenissima.

The first vineyard planted by Giuliano Valent and Adriana Marinatto dates back to 1990, and the year after the two founded the winery.

The wines emerge for their own features and tell the story of the oenological traditions of the Veneto region, combining them with international tastes. Una collaborazione tutta green Dalla collaborazione tra Crealis e Masi la capsula R-Derma con uno strato di polietilene al 60% riciclato, la soluzione più indicata per un packaging interamente rispettoso dell’ambiente

L

a collaborazione tra Crealis e Masi, presentata in occasione del Vinitaly, nasce dalla volontà di dare un tocco finale sostenibile ad un packaging già ampiamente progettato in una direzione green.

Infatti, il vino biologico della storica cantina veronese è già imbottigliato in formato ultra-light, con etichetta in carta riciclata e tappo in sughero naturale.

La capsula R-Derma, con uno strato di polietilene al 60% riciclato, rappresenta dunque la soluzione più indicata per portare a compimento l’ambizione di un packaging interamente rispettoso dell’ambiente, per un prodotto al 100% sostenibile. Infatti, questo materiale garantisce una riduzione del 18% dell’impronta di carbonio rispetto al polilaminato tradizio-

nale e dona una seconda vita ai rifiuti post-industriali di PE, inserendosi perfettamente in un’ottica di economia circolare.

he collaboration between Crealis and Masi, presented during the Vinitaly tradeshow, was born from the willingness of giving a sustainable finishing touch to a packaging already largely designed in a green direction. In fact, the organic wine of the historic Veronese Winery is already bottled in an ultra-light format, with a recycled paper label and natural cork.

The R-Derma capsule, with a 60% recycled polyethylene layer, represents the perfect solution to bring to fruition the ambition of an entirely environmentally friendly packaging for a 100% sustainable product. nolmeccanica Vallebelbo offre sistemi di chiusura all’avanguardia, progettati e costruiti per soddisfare appieno qualsiasi esigenza di produzione specifica. Inoltre, l’intera gamma di macchine è progettata in ottemperanza alla normativa CE. Un’azienda dinamica, dunque, la cui filosofia è più che

mai fondata su massima qualità e customer-satisfaction.

L’intera gamma di macchine Enolmeccanica Vallebelbo è realizzata in ottemperanza alla normativa CE e costruita con materiali di prima scelta quali acciaio inox Aisi 304, in materiali plastici certificati per uso alimentare e altre leghe metalliche, favorendo così robustezza e facilità di pulizia/sterilizzazione.

ANTARES, il tappatore dal nuovo design Antares, il tappatore per tappo sughero raso e/o tappo sughero fungo, presenta nuovo design con protezioni integrali in acciaio inox e garantisce una produzione oraria di 2.700 b/h. La distribuzione dei tappi avviene tramite tramoggia meccanica o predisposizione per orientatore tappi.

Antares offre grande semplicità d’uso con rapido cambio formato bottiglia, cambio altezza macchinario meccanico (o possibilità di azionamento elettrico). La variazione della velocità della macchina avviene tramite inverter su motore macchina; PLC per gestione macchinario e componenti elettrici. È inoltre possibile montare la sensoristica per un’automazione completa del macchinario (mancanza bottiglie in ingresso/accumulo bottiglie in uscita, mancanza tappi nella tramoggia e presenza tappi su bottiglia in uscita).

I sensori di sicurezza per incastro bottiglia e sicurezze sono come da normativa sicurezza sul lavoro.

Possibilità di montare modulo Industria 4.0 con teleassistenza e controllo remoto e sistemi per tappatura sottovuoto, iniezione azoto in collo bottiglia, livellatore prodotto interno bottiglia.

Inoltre, è possibile personalizzare il macchinario non solo secondo esigenze di lavorazione (altezza e diametri tappi o bottiglie fuori standard) ma anche per renderlo certificabile per determinate normative extra-UE (o tensioni elettriche speciali) come ad esempio UL/CSA.

Enolmeccanica Vallebelbo machine range is designed in compliance with the CE norms and manufactured in stainless steel 304, food-graded plastic materials and steel alloys, thus granting sturdiness and easy cleaning/sterilization.

The machine projects are developed by means of CAD-CAM systems to grant functionality, yield, safety and long-life. The making of mechanics and structural parts is fully carried out on the company’s premises thanks to the most modern work centres and CNC. 100% machineries produced undergo strict controls at every process stage up to the final start-up. Rispetto ai distributori di capsule standard il nuovo SYNCROCAP ha rappresentato un passo avanti significativo per tutto il settore: ogni componente è stato

completamente ripensato e riprogettato attorno ai seguenti obbiettivi: • Ottimizzazione della lavorazione • Aumento dell’affidabilità • Riduzione e semplificazione della manutenzione • Riduzione al minimo dei tempi di cambio formato a carico degli operatori.

Il cuore principale dell’innovazione è il gruppo di separazione e distribuzione a gestione completamente elettronica dove è stata implementata una nuova tecnologia meccatronica proprietaria (patent pending) denominata F.E.D.S. Technology (Fully Electronic Distribution System).

Questo porta ad una riduzione dei tempi di settaggio e cambio formato da parte dell’operatore di circa l’80% e alla completa eliminazione degli errori e problematiche che possono sorgere a causa di regolazioni approssimative. Inoltre, grazie ad una serie di algoritmi che racchiudono tutta l’esperienza Nortan, sono stati eliminati tutti i dispositivi meccanici ed è stato introdotto il concetto di “camma elettronica” che permette di adattare automaticamente le fasature e i parametri dei vari componenti in base al tipo di capsula in lavoro. La riduzione dei particolari del 40% e l’ottimizzazione dei processi produttivi ha portato a un notevole aumento di affidabilità.

Each component has been completely rethought and redesigned around the following objectives: • Processing optimization • Increase in reliability • Reduction and simplification of maintenance • Minimization of the format change times for operators.

l Consorzio Tutela Vini Montecucco è tornato in scena a Vinitaly, la manifestazione di riferimento dell’universo enologico che si è svolta a Verona dal 14 al 17 aprile 2024. Presso uno spazio espositivo ampliato e rinnovato già in occasione dell’edizione 2023 del salone scaligero, la Denominazione amiatina ha accolto un significativo e costante flusso di operatori, giornalisti e wine lover nazionali ed internazionali con una rappresentanza di 24 etichette al banco consortile e di 5 aziende socie presenti allo stand (Basile, Parmoleto, Villa Patrizia, La Banditaccia e Campinuovi), per raccontare una storia che parla di antiche tradizioni e di simbiosi con il territorio.

Vinitaly ha offerto alla DO un’occasione fondamentale non solo per rafforzare la propria presenza nei mercati di riferimento - USA, Centro e Nord Europa, oltre che naturalmente l’Italia – ma anche per individuare nuovi spazi all’estero, grazie ai preziosi incontri con i buyer internazionali. Da segnalare in particolare, oltre ad un incremento di visite da parte di operatori nazionali, l’interesse manifestato da parte di un importatore del Vietnam, che ha riscontrato nei vini del Montecucco

un profilo perfettamente adatto per i consumatori di questo mercato, attualmente ancora vergine per i prodotti della Denominazione.

In uno scenario che diventa sempre più competitivo, la Denominazione viene apprezzata in tutto il mondo non solo per l’alto livello qualitativo e l’accessibilità dei suoi vini, ma anche per la capacità di rispondere alla domanda nazionale ed internazionale di prodotto “bio”.

Continua infatti e anzi cresce sempre di più l’impegno del Consorzio sul fronte della sostenibilità, a tutela di un territorio già naturalmente vocato al biologico e che da sempre vive nel rispetto della biodiversità e nella conservazione della sua integrità.

A tal proposito, nei prossimi mesi saranno resi noti i risultati della survey che il Consorzio ha condotto tra gli associati per attestare le nuove percentuali di produzione bio-certificata e in particolare verificare il progress dei produttori che erano in fase di conversione durante la prima indagine del 2021, che aveva certificato già l’85% di imbottigliato biologico. Una strategia utile soprattutto in quei mercati fedeli ai vini toscani come l’Europa e il Nord America, che strizzano l’occhio non solo al green, ma anche al prodotto bio-certificato di qualità e all’affidabilità dei viticoltori e dei relativi organismi di tutela.

Parlando di prodotto, accanto al Sangiovese DOCG - che resta il re della Denominazione e firma d’eccellenza del Montecucco – protagonisti sul banco d’assaggio sono stati il Rosso DOC e il Vermentino che, grazie ai buoni livelli di acidità resi possibili dalla collocazione territoriale e dall’ottimo rapporto qualitàprezzo, si sposano perfettamente con le esigenze della nuova generazione di consumatori, alla ricerca di una bevuta sempre più fresca e non impegnativa non solo per il palato ma anche per il portafoglio.

Intanto in aprile è uscito il decreto di modifica ordinaria al disciplinare di produzione della denominazione di origine controllata dei vini Montecucco - di cui è attesa la pubblicazione in Gazzetta Ufficiale italiana anche per le DOCG -, che si riferisce alle norme per la vinificazione e alle disposizioni su etichettatura, designazione e presentazione.

Rispetto alle operazioni di cantina, per i produttori che conducono vigneti nella zona di produzione del Montecucco Sangiovese DOCG e del Montecucco DOC sarà ora possibile trasferire le uve qui raccolte presso cantine situate in altre province

onsorzio Tutela Vini Montecucco returned to Vinitaly, leading trade fair for the wine making and wine growing universe taking place in Verona from 14 to 17 April 2024. With a broader and renewed exhibition space the Denomination welcomed a significant and continuous flow of national and international operators, journalists, wine lovers, with some of the 24 labels at the consortium counter and 5 member companies present at the stand (Basile, Parmoleto, Villa Patrizia, La Banditaccia and Campinuovi), to tell a story of ancient traditions and symbiosis with the territory.

Vinitaly offered the DO a crucial opportunity not only to strengthen its presence in its reference markets - the USA, Central and Northern Europe, and of course Italy - but also to identify new spaces abroad, thanks to valuable meetings with international buyers.

In addition of an increase in national buyers’ visits, it is also worth highlighting the interest of an importer from Vietnam who deemed Montecucco wines perfect for Vietnamese consumers, in market that is still virgin to the Denomination products.

In a scenario that is increasingly competitive, the Denomination is appreciated all over the world not only for its high quality, but also for its meeting the “bio” demand.

In fact, the Consortium is increasingly committed to sustainability, safeguarding the territory that is already naturally vocated to organic production and that has always respected bio-diversity and preserved its integrity.

To this regard, the results of the survey the Consortium carried out among its members to verify the new percentage of organic-certified production will be made public, and to verify the progress of the producers who were in the process of conversion during the first survey in 2021, which had already certified 85% of bottled organic. This is a useful strategy, especially in those markets loyal to Tuscan wines, such as Europe and North America, which are winking not only at green, but also at the quality bio-certified product and the reliability of the winegrowers and their protection bodies.

About products, as well as Sangiovese DOCG - which remains the king of the Denomination and Montecucco’s signature of excellence - the protagonists at the tasting table were Rosso DOC and Vermentino, which, thanks to the good levels of acidity and excellent cost-effectiveness, are perfectly meet the needs of the new generation of consumers, who search an increasingly fresh and undemanding drink not only for the palate but also for the wallet.

Giovan Battista Basile, the President of the Consortium, said: “We are very satisfied with this edition of Vinitaly and, backing on the excellent feedback received, we look to the future with confidence, with the desire to evolve and meet the new consumption trends without ever losing sight of our territorial identity and values that have made our Denomination that appreciated across the globe. In particular, we aim to expand our production by leveraging not only on the high quality level of our wines and our green vocation, but also on the amendment to our production regulations, which will soon make it possible to increase the percentage of product that can be claimed as DOC and DOCG Montecucco.”

In April, the ordinary amendment decree to the production regulation of the Montecucco DOC wines was published, and its publication on the Italian Official Gazette for DOCGs will be published soon, refers to the wine-making norms and labelling, designation, and presentation regulations.

As regards wine-making operations, it is now possible for the producers of the Montecucco Sangiovese DOC and Montecucco DOC production area to transfer the grapes here harvested to Tuscany for vinification, compulsory aging and bottling operations, and such procedures used to be allowed only in the province of Grosseto provided that those wineries are owned by the companies that make wines from grapes suitable for DOCG and DOC productions from their own vineyards. For Montecucco Sangiovese and Montecucco wines, rear label must show the geographic indication of “Tuscany” as per already set graphic criteria.

In questo modo l’acqua, attraversando il serbatoio dall’alto verso il basso, viene depurata dai metalli pesanti. L’efficienza dell’adsorbimento è massima all’inizio (contenuto di Arsenico tendente a zero), ma si riduce progressivamente. Quando il mezzo “adsorbente” ha esaurito la sua capacità deve essere rimosso e sostituito (di solito dopo 3 anni).

L’assorbimento e la durata del mezzo filtrante dipendono dal pH (ottimale a 7,5) e dal carico di inquinanti nell’acqua. Inoltre, è opportuno prevedere una prefiltrazione per ridurre la torbidità. Il controllo delle pressioni differenziali e opportune fasi di controlavaggio servono per rimuovere le impurità depositatesi sul letto filtrante e a tenere l’efficienza ai massimi livelli.

La geometria dei serbatoi è studiata in funzione dei parametri di lavoro, ad esempio: 3÷4 minuti di tempo di contatto, velocità di filtrazione inferiore a 20 m/h.

Serve lasciare spazio alla sommità del serbatoio per le ottimali operazioni di contro-lavaggio. Le soluzioni modulari di ADUE possono adeguarsi a diverse necessità: da 50 mc/h a fino ad 500 mc/h con l’utilizzo di più sistemi in parallelo.

’azienda affonda le sue radici nel lontano 1949, anno in cui, col nome di Mida, viene costituita a Milano dall’ingegnere chimico Erminio Paronitti.

Nel 1985 Viene acquistata da Giorgio Pozzi. Nel 1988 l’azienda si trasferisce nella sede attuale di Cornegliano Laudense (Lodi) dove dal 2007 si dedica esclusivamente all’attività di contoterzista offrendo molteplici proposte che rappresentano sia la tradizione che l’innovazione nel campo dei rivestimenti antiusura, anticorrosione e anti-adesione: il flash cromo duro, la cromatura dura a spessore, il DLC (Diamond Like Carbon), l’ossido di silicio “anti-sticking” (anti incollaggio). A tali trattamenti vengono sottoposti particolari in acciaio, acciaio inox, alluminio, ottone e rame destinati, soprattutto, ai comparti dello stampaggio delle materie plastiche, al settore alimentare, della meccanica di precisione, packaging e farmaceutico.

E se non fossero solo “guarnizioni”?

Lo sviluppo di soluzioni “turn-key” è diventato il core-business di FST, che studia come soddisfare le esigenze del proprio cliente, analizzando i vari protagonisti all’interno di un sistema

’impegno di aziende come la FST Srl di Verona è di creare soluzioni uniche, da più di vent’anni, per ogni impianto e nei dettagli tecnici scelti insieme al cliente per soddisfare anche le esigenze più estreme.

La tecnologia impiegata? Speciali CNC che permettono la lavorazione di polimeri come poliuretani, elastomeri e termoplastici che compongono una gamma di oltre un centinaio di possibili “percorsi” per il cliente, che coadiuvato dall’ufficio tecnico interno a FST, traccia un vero e proprio sentiero verso la miglior soluzione per l’applicazione sotto esame.

There was a slight increase in international operators from 140 countries to 30,070 (31% of total), of whom 1200 top buyers from 65 countries (+20% compared to 2023) selected, invited and hosted by Veronafiere in collaboration with ICE Trade Agency.

Fine results were also seen for Vinitaly Plus, the supply and demand matching platform, with business appointments doubling this year to 20,000, as well as for the off-show Vinitaly and the City event, which posted more than 50,000 tastings (+11%). The 57th edition is scheduled at Veronafiere 6-9 April 2025.

The President of Veronafiere, Federico Bricolo, said: “Vinitaly consolidates its business positioning and an increasingly central role in the international promotion of Italian wine. Data for the event, together with positive feedback from companies, confirm the business objectives of Veronafiere’s current governance, with its firm commitment to strengthening the Made in Italy wine trade fair brand around the world. Stronger collaboration with all institutional representatives also goes in this direction, today in the front line with Veronafiere in supporting the internationalization of the sector.”

el settore del beverage, un’applicazione molto importante è quella dell’ispezione delle etichette, in particolare della lettura di barcode o datacode identificativi del prodotto contenuto, delle date di scadenza e del controllo della qualità di stampa delle stesse.

In questo campo d’applicazione è nota anche la variabilità dei contenitori sui quali sono applicate le etichette: bottiglie di vetro o di plastica, lattine in metallo, brick in tetrapak, ognuno con la sua propria forma e le proprie dimensioni, creando così un campione enorme di tipologie di imballaggi sui quali dover fare i controlli elencati precedentemente.

Se considerassimo solo le bottiglie in plastica, ma il concetto è facilmente estensibile a tutti i vari modelli di contenitore, avremmo innumerevoli formati con dimensioni diverse. Proviamo ora a pensare ad un impianto industriale di riempimento, chiusura ed etichettatura, in cui tipicamente quattro telecamere vengono utilizzate per inquadrare la bottiglia da quattro direzioni differenti poste a novanta gradi fra di loro, per essere certi di inquadrare tutte le parti da controllare.

In un impianto simile, i contenitori viaggiano ad elevate velocità lungo un sistema di movimentazione che ne garantisce il corretto posizionamento una volta arrivati nella zona di acquisizione delle immagini. Tuttavia, una delle problematiche più frequenti

che gli integratori di un sistema di visione si trovano ad affrontare è quella della messa a fuoco delle immagini: bottiglie con diametri differenti e oscillazioni delle stesse durante il movimento causano una distanza di lavoro variabile sia tra le quattro telecamere che acquisiscono lo stesso campione, sia tra un’acquisizione e le successive. Con il risultato di avere delle immagini che non sono sempre correttamente a fuoco.

n the beverages sector, label inspection is a very important application, especially in barcode reading and datacode identification of the product contained, best-before date, and print quality control.

In this application field, labels are applied in many and different containers – glass or plastic bottles, metal cans, Tetrapak briks, each one of different shape and size, thus creating a huge range of packaging types which undergo the aforementioned controls.

Should we consider plastics bottles only, however the concept can be easily applied to other containers, we would have countless formats of different shapes. In an industrial filling, closing and labelling plant four cameras are usually placed at 90° working distance from one another to frame the bottles from four angles as to focus on all the parts to be controlled.

In a similar plant, containers are conveyed at high speed on a conveyor system that grants their correct positioning once arrived in the image acquisition area. However, one of the most frequent problems is image focusing: Different diameters and oscillations of the bottles on the belt cause a variable working

distance among the four cameras that acquire the same sample, and between one acquisition and the following. The risk is having images sometimes out of focus.

To solve such situation, iMAGE S SpA, leader company in Italy in the distribution of vision system components, proposes the products of the Swiss company Optotune AG, which has been producing tunable lenses, most known as liquid lenses. I nuovi bloccaggi di sicurezza Pilz PSENmlock mini e PSENslock 2 sono compatti, resistenti, affidabili, efficienti e per una maggiore produttività

n fase di messa in sicurezza di dispositivi di protezione mobili è necessario tenere in considerazione, a seconda dell’applicazione, fattori diversissimi tra loro, come ad esempio la tipologia di riparo mobile e la relativa situazione di installazione nonché l’utilizzo.

Pilz amplia a tale scopo la propria gamma nel settore dei bloccaggi di sicurezza con due nuovi sensori: PSENmlock mini per applicazioni in cui lo spazio è limitato e PSENslock 2 con un design ottimizzato dal punto di vista dell’igiene in aggiunta a nuove versioni con componenti in acciaio inox. Per il bloccaggio di sicurezza PSENmlock mini c’è sempre spazio, anche in applicazioni in cui è limitato, grazie alla sua struttura compatta che misura 30x30x159 mm. Tramite un bloccaggio di sicurezza per applicazioni di protezione delle persone fino a PL d, categoria 3 (EN ISO 13849-1), l’interruttore di sicurezza gestisce dispositivi di protezione come calotte e sportelli. Una forza di ritenuta FHZ pari a 1950 N (F1max: 3900 N), con cui il “piccolo” il bloccaggio mette in sicurezza con affidabilità anche forze maggiori, è garanzia di elevata robustezza.

Manca anche il tempo? Anche in questo caso, nessun problema!

Il nuovo PSENmlock mini si fissa in modo semplice e veloce con due sole viti. Il montaggio può essere effettuato all’interno o all’esterno del dispositivo di protezione, a seconda dell’applicazione.

La rapidità di questa procedura consente in ultima istanza di risparmiare tempo per l’installazione. Anche l’attuatore offre massima flessibilità di installazione: può essere applicato dal lato destro, sinistro e anche anteriormente. Inoltre, è possibile mettere in sicurezza senza problemi porte scorrevoli e a battente di dimensioni estremamente ridotte. Le macchine

hen protecting guards, there are various factors to consider, depending on the application. For example, the type of safety gate, the respective installation situation and how it is used. With this in mind, Pilz is adding two new sensors to its portfolio of safety locking devices – PSENmlock mini for space-critical applications and PSENslock 2 with optimised hygienic design, as well as new versions with stainless steel components.

Both sensors offer particular benefits for the packaging and pharmaceutical industry, and for the food and beverage sector. A high level of manipulation protection and added flexibility for the user are characteristics of both safety locking devices. This has a positive impact on productivity.

With its compact design, the new safety locking device PSENmlock mini for personnel protection is ideal for space-critical applications, such as flaps or covers for example. The actuator has a wide range of mounting options, enabling a high level of flexibility during installation.

The new generation of safety locking device PSENslock 2 offers greater productivity due to robust process guarding: thanks to its robustness and protection type IP 67 / IP 6K9K, it is suitable for use even in rugged and more hygiene-critical conditions.

With its compact design of just 30x30x159 mm, you’ll always find space for the safety locking device PSENmlock mini, even in space-critical applications.

The safety switch manages safeguards, such as flaps and covers for example, via a safe guard locking device for personnel protection applications up to PL d, Category 3 (EN ISO 13849-1). The 1950 N holding force FZH (F1max: 3900 N), with which the “small” safety locking device reliably safeguards even higher forces, ensures a high level of robustness.

No time either? Also no problem!

The new PSENmlock mini can be attached simply and quickly using just two screws. It can be installed inside or outside the safeguard – to suit the application. The fact that it can be assembled quickly ultimately saves time during installation. The actuator also offers a high level of flexibility for installation, as it can be attached from the right, left and front. So even smaller swing gates and sliding gates can easily be safeguarded. As a result, there is much greater flexibility for designing machines.

Safe and energy-conscious The dual-channel operation of the solenoid and the bistable guard locking principle guarantee a high level of safety in the event of a power failure: that’s because the last state is maintained and the gate is closed. Users also benefit from reduced energy consumption, which helps to reduce costs. The OSSD outputs detect wiring errors and immediately switch the machine to a safe state in the event of a fault, thus guaranteeing safety.

Economy included The RFID safety switch with protection type IP 67 also offers a high degree of manipulation protection in accordance with EN ISO 14119: the coding is freely selectable – coded, fully coded or uniquely coded. An auxiliary release is integrated on two sides.

The high holding force F1max of either 1,000 or 2,000 N and manipulation protection for the RFID safety switch via freely selectable coding (coded, fully coded, uniquely coded) offer reliable process protection, because unwanted interruptions to production are prevented. That increases productivity.

With the optional RFID tags, the latching force can be set quickly and simply in stages, adjusted to the respective plant and the size of the safety gate. So this intelligent safety locking device increases flexibility in the design and installation phase.

Everything and everybody safely in view The clear display via four LEDs on both sides makes it easy for the operator to recognise the respective status during commissioning and while operation is running. Extended diagnostic options are available in combination with the intelligent diagnostic system SDD from Pilz, allowing availability to be increased even further. For applications that require safe guard locking for personnel protection, there is also a version available that safely monitors the holding force.

Breve introduzione sui tavoli di accumulo I sistemi di accumulo negli impianti di produzione permettono di avere numerosi vantaggi: • Servono da buffer in caso di rallentamenti o fermi della linea a valle.

• Assorbono le fermate della produzione • Incrementano l’efficienza della linea I sistemi di accumulo di Vetromeccanica sono molto versatili e si possono inserire sia su linee nuove, sia su linee esistenti.

Il sistema di accumulo a file parallele Questo sistema è utilizzato negli impianti per l’accumulo progressivo e ordinato di prodotti di forma o fragili, sia pieni che vuoti, che necessitano di un accumulo senza pressione ed uno scarico ordinato in sequenza. Quando le macchine a valle del tavolo si fermano, le vie del tavolo iniziano a riempirsi, una dopo l’altra, secondo una sequenza stabilita (1-3-57-8-6-4-2-1), quando le macchine ripartono, il tavolo inizia a scaricare le file di bottiglie nello stesso ordine in cui sono state caricate. Durante la normale velocità di produzione la presenza dei contenitori sul tavolo è minima e solo con funzionalità di bypass. Il sistema garantisce un reale FIFO, ma nello stesso tempo, permette di trattare i contenitori senza pressione reciproca, tenendo alta l’efficienza.

Descrizione sistema Il sistema con funzionamento FIFO è composto da una struttura con vie parallele dotate di catene motorizzate in modo indipendente. Le sezioni d’ingresso e uscita, poste trasversalmente all’area di accumulo, sono dotate ciascuna di un carrello introduttore/estrattore che accompagna i contenitori nella fase di passaggio sul tavolo di accumulo.

Il numero di file e la lunghezza del tavolo variano in base al tempo d’accumulo richiesto. Possiamo disporre di 16 file al massimo. Le vie di trasporto

possono essere configurate per lavorare individualmente (per contenitori sino a 110 mm), in modo accoppiato (per contenitori con dimensione sino a 220 mm). È disponibile anche la configurazione mista, con la possibilità quindi di lavorare con vie accoppiate o singole, a seconda del contenitore trattato. Tutti gli elementi strutturali sono interamente realizzati in acciaio inox AISI 304.

Caratteristiche dei carrelli di trasferimento patentati da Vetromeccanica Il cuore del sistema di accumulo è rappresentato dai carrelli di trasferimento, in uscita ed in entrata al tavolo. I dispositivi possono essere equipaggiati in maniera differente a seconda del tipo di contenitore da trattare: nel caso di contenitori di grandi dimensioni (boccioni da 5 litri, ecc.) le superfici di deviazione/trasferimento sono costituite da guide passive a sfere; in tutti gli altri casi da elementi motorizzati (cinghie o catene modulari) che accompagnano i prodotti in modo positivo. Il cambio formato risulta facile e veloce.

Per i grandi formati abbiamo infatti solo la sostituzione meccanica, senza utensili, delle due parti costituenti ciascun carrello e la regolazione dei cinghioli dosatori in ingresso.

Per tutti gli altri abbiamo solo la regolazione delle due pareti laterali del canale di scorrimento tramite maniglie graduate, che può essere anche automatizzata (a ricetta) tramite due servomotori.

Queste tipologie di operazioni sono state brevettate e rappresentano un importante ausilio nel caso di lavorazione con diversi formati dimensionalmente e geometricamente diversi tra loro (tondi, quadrati, ovali, ecc.).

Sistema di controllo Il sistema è gestito da un quadro elettrico di controllo dedicato, dotato di pannello con interfaccia ottimizzata. I motoriduttori sono ad alta efficienza e rendimento: la gestione degli stessi è affidata a variatori di frequenza che regolano al meglio le varie fasi del ciclo di lavoro.

I carrelli introduttore/estrattore sono motorizzati con componenti a gestione elettronica al fine di avere alte velocità di spostamento e posizionamenti precisi, consentendo di aumentare l’efficienza del sistema.

Il software del sistema è strutturato per personalizzare la gestione di ciascun contenitore in termini di velocità ed accelerazione: i vari sensori forniscono lo stato in tempo reale di tutto il sistema e rilevano le eventuali anomalie.

Brief introduction to accumulation tables Accumulation systems in production plants offer numerous advantages: • Creation of a buffer in case of slowdowns or stops of the downstream line • Absorption of production stops • Increase of the line efficiency Vetromeccanica accumulation systems are very versatile, and can be integrated both on new lines and on existing lines.

Parallel lines accumulation system This system is used in plants for the progressive and orderly accumulation of shaped or fragile containers, both full and empty, which require accumulation without pressure and orderly discharge in sequence.

When the downstream machines stop, the ways of the table begin to fill according to an established sequence (1-3-5-7-8-6-4-2-1), when the machines

restart, the table begins to unload the rows of bottles in the same order in which they were loaded.

During normal production speed the presence of containers on the table is minimal and only with bypass functionality. The system guarantees a real FIFO, but at the same time, allows the containers flow without mutual pressure, keeping a high efficiency.

System description The system with FIFO operation is composed of a structure with parallel lanes equipped with independently motorized chains. The infeed and outfeed sections placed transversally to the accumulation area are each equipped with an introducer/extractor trolley that accompanies the containers in the passage phase on the accumulation table.

The number of lanes and the length of the table vary according to the accumulation time required. We can have 16 lanes maximum. The conveying lanes can be configured to work individually (for containers up to 110mm), in a coupled way (for containers with dimensions up to 220mm).

A mixed configuration is also available, with the possibility of working in coupled or single ways, depending on the container handled. All structural elements are entirely made of AISI 304 stainless steel.

Vetromeccanica patented transfer trolley features The heart of the accumulation system is represented by the transfer trolleys at the table infeed and outfeed.

The devices can be equipped differently depending on the type of container to be managed: in the case of

large containers (5l bottles, for example) the transfer surfaces consist of passive ball guides; in all other cases, by motorized elements (belts or modular chains) that accompany smoothly the products. The format change is quick and easy.

In fact, for large formats we only have mechanical replacement without tools of the 2 parts forming each trolley and the adjustment of the infeed dosing belts.

For all other types of containers, we only have the adjustment of the 2 side walls of the sliding channel using graduated handles, which can also be automated by 2 servomotors.

This operation has been patented and represents an important plus in the case of processing different dimensionally and geometrically formats (round, square, oval, etc.) on the same line.

Control system The system is managed by a dedicated electrical control panel, equipped with a panel with an optimized interface. The gearmotors are highly efficient and performant: their management is entrusted to frequency converters which regulate the various phases of the work cycle in the best possible way.

The introducer/extractor trolleys are motorized with electronically managed components in order to have high movement speeds and precise positioning, thus allowing to increase the system efficiency.

The system software is designed to customize the management of each container in terms of speed and acceleration: The various sensors provide real-time status of the whole system and detect any anomalies.

È questo il messaggio emerso dal convegno organizzato da ONAV, Organizzazione Nazionale Assaggiatori di Vino, presso la sede di Asti. Un incontro che ha visto protagonisti Vincenzo Gerbi, vicepresidente dell’Accademia della Vite e del Vino, e Luigi Moio, presidente dell’OIV, nomi di fama internazionale che, coraggiosamente, hanno unito l’approccio scientifico a quello umanistico. Un tema fortemente voluto da ONAV, come evidenziato dal presidente Vito Intini.

Il convegno ha offerto nuovi elementi di narrazione ai produttori e ai giornalisti presenti all’incontro, uscendo dalla canonica descrizione in termini tecnici, dimostrando come il vino sia “portatore di civiltà”.

Esso ha accompagnato l’uomo da tempi antichissimi tanto che, nella Bibbia, dopo il Diluvio Universale Noè pianta la vigna, e non il grano, in segno di rinascita.

Un prodotto dal valore simbolico ma anche di utilità vitale. È proprio mescolando il vino e/o l’aceto, disinfettanti naturali, all’acqua, che è stato possibile idratarsi in modo sicuro. Grazie all’alcool era possibile conservare gli alimenti, come descritto da Columella e, studiando il vino, sono state fatte alcune delle più importanti scoperte scientifiche, determinanti per la

conoscenza dei microrganismi, creando le premesse per sconfiggere malattie e aumentare l’età media dell’uomo.

Tra le ricerche più importanti quelle di Pasteur, partito dagli studi sul vino per arrivare a quelli di medicina. I suoi esperimenti sulle fermentazioni consentirono di evidenziare l’esistenza dei microrganismi, ma presero in considerazione anche i cristalli del bitartrato nelle botti, ipotizzando che la forma della materia fosse data dalle molecole. Gli studi sui microrganismi del vino e le sue “malattie” furono alla base di altre scoperte che rivoluzionarono la medicina. Ancora prima delle scoperte di Pasteur le osservazioni sulla fermentazione alcolica furono alla base di importanti progressi della scienza, come le ipotesi di Lavoisier, nulla si crea né si distrugge ma si trasforma, e il bilancio stechiometrico definito da Gay Lussac.

Sono solo alcuni esempi di quanto la storia dell’uomo si intrecci costantemente con quella del vino, e come in esso l’alcol sia un componente importante, ma non un elemento distintivo, come lo sono invece gli aromi e i polifenoli. Insomma, il vino è un elemento che è sempre stato determinante nella vita dell’uomo e che racchiude ben altri che il semplice alcol. Come scrive Richard Feynman, Premio Nobel per la fisica e autore del capolavoro “Sei pezzi facili”, c’è “l’universo intero in un bicchiere di vino”.

n every era, wine has contributed to making life better for mankind; That is the message emerging from the conference organised by ONAV, National Organisation of Wine Tasters, at its headquarters in Asti. This event welcome Vincenzo Gerbi, vicepresident of the Academy of Vine and Wine, and Luigi Moio, president of OIV, who are internationally renowned people who combined the scientific and humanistic approaches. A topic strongly wanted by ONAV, as highlighted by President Vito Intini.

“Founded in 1951, our organisation has been the first to focus on wine culture at international level, and our mission is spreading wine knowledge while maintaining scientific accuracy.

As well as training wine enthusiasts and technicians, in recent years our growing commitment has been to fight the ongoing demonisation of drinking. That’s why we organised the “In Vino Veritas” conference, in collaboration with the Register of Physicians of Milan, and promoted the event “Wine, Progress, Civilization” as to make people understand that wine is much more than an alcoholic beverage.”

The conference offered the producers and journalists present new elements beyond the usual technical description, showing how wine is a “bearer of

civilization”; Wine has accompanied mankind since ancient times and, for example, in the Bible, after the Great Flood Noah planted a vineyard, and not wheat, as a sign of rebirth. A product delivering a symbolic value as well as vital utility.

It is just blending wine with vinegar, which are natural disinfectants, to water that it was possible to safely hydrate. Thanks to alcohol it was possible to preserve food, as described by Columella and, by studying wine, some of the most important scientific discoveries were made, crucial to know microorganisms, laying the foundations to defeat diseases and increase average human age.

Among the most important research is worth highlighting the Pasteur’s, who started from wine studies to proceed with medical studies. His experiments on fermentation not only revealed the existence of micro-organisms, but also took into consideration bitartrate crystals in barrels, assumed that the form of matter depended on molecules.

The studies on the micro-organisms in wine and its “diseases” were the foundation for other discoveries that revolutionised medicine. Even before Pasteur’s discoveries, observations on alcoholic fermentation were the basis of important advances in science,

such as Lavoisier’s theory, nothing is created or destroyed but transformed, and the stoichiometric balance defined by Gay Lussac.

Those are just some examples of how mankind’s history has constantly interwoven with wine, and how alcohol is an important element, not a distinctive element how aromas and polyphenols are, instead.

Wine has always been crucial in the life of man and encompasses more than just alcohol.

ECONORMA FT-105/RF-Plus Nuovi aggiornamenti del software multi-client per il monitoraggio wireless - Versione 6.2

I

l sistema di monitoraggio FT-105/RF-Plus visualizza in tempo reale l’andamento delle sonde di Temperatura e Umidità Relativa % in un unico grafico. Le applicazioni di questo sistema variano dal controllo delle celle frigorifere, congelatori, termostati, magazzini, HACCP, trasporti, musei e ambienti in genere.

I moduli hanno una antenna interna ad alta risoluzione con invio radio monodirezionale. Range di Temperatura delle sonde digitali e Pt100 varia da -100°C/+200°C. Una recente implementazione del programma permette di seguire il monitoraggio, in tempo reale, registrando tutte le operazioni svolte dai vari utenti e dall’amministratore come previsto dalle Linee Guida della normativa nell’industria farmaceutica ed alimentare FDA-CFR21-Parte 11.

Altri aggiornamenti riportati nella ultima versione 6.2 sono qui di seguito riportati: Menu opzioni – Questo menu ha diverse opzioni interessanti: Chiedi conferma alla chiusura del programma. Il segno di spunta invece su Icona Notifica presenta le varie opzioni nella barra delle applicazioni in basso a sinistra. Con il segno di spunta in Configurazione manuale tempi di Trasmissione si

abilita la possibilità, per tutti i moduli radio, di memorizzare i dati con tempi differenti all’invio wireless. Con il menu Trasmissione si entra nella finestra Tempi di Trasmissione, che possono essere differenti dalla normale programmazione. Con l’ultima opzione si genera il file Excel di registrazione alla chiusura del programma, oppure un file di registrazione giornaliero in automatico anche con possibilità di invio come email.

Le modifiche possono essere fatte solo con il segno di spunta nel menu “Permetti modifica sonde”.

Una opzione molto interessante è quella di poter generare un file Excel di registrazione in automatico formato dalle ultime letture dell’ora.

Con una recente implementazione è stata introdotta la possibilità di registrare con data e ora tutte le aperture/chiusure provenienti da un sensore collegato ad una porta o da qualsiasi apertura di contatto. Ogni cambiamento di stato viene registrato indipendentemente dal tempo di registrazione programmato. Con Export i dati possono essere salvati come file Excel.

ECONORMA “FT-105/RF-Plus” New wireless monitoring multi-client software updates Version 6.2

T

he FT-105/RF-Plus monitoring system views the trend of the temperature and relative humidity % probes in real time in a single graph. The applications of this system vary from the control of cold rooms, freezers, thermostats, warehouses, HACCP, transport, museums, and environments in general.

The modules have a high-resolution internal antenna with one-way radio transmission. Temperature range of digital and Pt100 probes varies from -100°C /+200°C. A recent implementation of the program allows monitoring in real time, recording all the operations carried out by the various users and the administrator as required by the FDA-CFR21-Part 11 regulatory guidelines for the pharmaceutical and food industry.

Other updates reported in the latest version 6.2 are listed below: Options menu featuring several interesting options: Ask for confirmation when closing the program; The check mark on Notification Icon presents the

various options in the taskbar at the bottom left; With the check mark in Manual transmission times configuration you enable the possibility, for all radio modules, of storing data with different times for wireless sending; With the Transmission menu you enter the Transmission Times window, which may be different from the normal programming; With the last option the Excel recording file is generated when the program is closed. Or it generates a daily recording file automatically, also with the possibility of sending it as an email. Changes can only be made with the check mark in the Allow probe modification menu.

A very interesting option is to be able to automatically generate an Excel recording file made up of the latest time readings.

ONTEX, the new exhibition organiser in the beverage and liquid food industry, has started out on the right track: following the successful staging of BrauBeviale 2023, preparations have begun for BrauBeviale 2024 and drinktec 2025.

From March 2024 onwards, a newly established advisory committee is involved in the marketoriented alignment of all activities under the new umbrella brand.

The team now preparing for two eventful years, as BrauBeviale 2024 (November 26-28, 2024, in Nuremberg) and drinktec 2025 (September 15-19, 2025, in Munich) will once again provide the beverage and liquid food industry with the familiar and muchneeded platforms in Europe and around the world to prepare for current and future challenges.

New advisory committee established Since March 2024, YONTEX has been supported by an advisory committee made up of exhibitors and the respective conceptual sponsors of the two exhibitions. With the Bavarian Association of Private Breweries for BrauBeviale and the VDMA win Association of Food Processing and Packaging Machinery for drinktec, the exhibition team will enjoy strong support from the industry.

La vita maldiviana ruota attorno alla tutela delle sue bellezze paesaggistiche; pertanto, le realtà industriali come MWSC, leader nella produzione e imbottigliamento di acqua naturale, prestano la massima attenzione nell’adottare sistemi di produzione di ultima generazione in grado di ridurre drasticamente, se non di azzerare del tutto, l’impatto sull’ecosistema in cui operano. Dopo la prima collaborazione nel 2012 tra SMI e Malé Water per la progettazione, la produzione e l’installazione di una linea completa PET da 14.000 bottiglie/ore, di recente l’azienda maldiviana si è nuovamente rivolta a SMI per la fornitura di una linea vetro, sia per contenitori a rendere che a perdere, che si è resa necessaria per il lancio della nuova bottiglia a marchio ARO, marchio che rappresenta “le Maldive in una bottiglia”. Per questo secondo progetto di “Bottling in Paradise”, destinato alla produzione di acqua piatta e gassata, l’azienda MWSC ha scelto un monoblocco di riempimento e tappatura della serie ELC di ENOBERG (società del Gruppo SMI) e due confezionatrici SMI con sistema “pick & place” della serie ACP ERGON; la prima è destinata al confezionamento in scatole RSC di bottiglie di vetro a perdere, mentre la seconda al confezionamento in casse di plastica di bottiglie a rendere. La confezionatrice che gestisce le casse di plastica è stata integrata nella pre-esistente linea PET per permettere al cliente di confezionare, oltre i contenitori in vetro, anche le bottiglie PET a marchio TaZa in scatole di cartone RSC. Le Maldive in bottiglia Ispirata dalla straordinaria bellezza naturale dell’arcipelago delle Maldive, l’azienda Malé Water & Sewerage Company (MWSC) ha recentemente presentato al mercato le nuove bottiglie in vetro “ARO”, il primo marchio di acqua premium di queste isole specificamente rivolto al settore del turismo. Maldivian life revolves around the protection of its beautiful landscapes; therefore, industrial realities such as MWSC, leader in the production and bottling of natural water, pay the utmost attention in adopting the latest generation production systems capable of drastically reducing, if not completely zeroing, the impact on the ecosystem in which they operate. After the first collaboration in 2012 between SMI and Malé Water for the design, production and installation of a complete PET line of 14,000 bottles/hours, recently the Maldivian company has again turned to SMI for the supply of a glass line, both for returnable and disposable containers, which was necessary for the launch of the new ARO branded bottle, this brand represents “the Maldives in a bottle”. For this second “Bottling in Paradise” project, intended for

the production of still and sparkling water, the MWSC company chose a filling and capping monoblock of the ENOBERG ELC range (a company within the SMI Group) and two SMI packaging machines with the “pick & place” system of the ACP ERGON range; the first is intended for the packing of disposable glass bottles in RSC boxes, while the second for the packing of returnable bottles in plastic crates. The packaging machine that manages the plastic crates has been integrated into the pre-existing PET line to allow the customer to pack, in addition to the glass containers, also the TaZa PET bottles in RSC cardboard boxes.

• The latter was integrated into the pre-existing PET line for the packaging of TaZa PET bottles in RSC cardboard cases.

’industria del beverage deve assicurare standard qualitativi elevati ai consumatori: prodotti che si conservino a lungo e con la giusta gasatura. Per esaudire queste esigenze si è iniziato a impiegare in misura sempre maggiore l’azoto, che

grazie alle sue proprietà contrasta gli effetti dell’ossigeno mantenendo le caratteristiche organolettiche e nutrizionali dei prodotti e ne contrasta l’ossidazione. L’autoproduzione di azoto in loco permette di controllare la quantità, la purezza e la pressione perfetta che le varie applicazioni dell’industria del beverage richiede.

L’aria è una miscela di gas formata dal 21% di ossigeno e dal 78% di azoto, con tracce di vapore acqueo, diossido di carbonio, argon e altri elementi. Sia l’ossigeno che l’azoto sono normalmente incolore, inodore e insapore. L’azoto, contrariamente all’ossigeno, è un gas inerte che non favorisce la formazione e il proliferare di muffe e batteri e, per questa sua proprietà, è divento indispensabile nelle piccole e grandi industrie di bevande, come birrifici, torrefazioni, produzione di succhi e bibite gassate e cantine.

L’azoto oltre a essere impiegato per la conservazione, all’interno della produzione trova impiego in svariate fasi del processo produttivo: nella movimentazione in pressione, per garantire la massima igiene delle bottiglie nelle fasi di lavaggio e asciugatura, nella gasatura di bevande come la birra creando texture più lisce e bollicine più fini e nei sistemi di spurgatura per evitare eventuali residui di aria contenuti nel collo delle bottiglie.

L’azoto per l’industria delle bevande è spesso fornito in forma liquida o in bombole. Da alcuni anni si sono consolidate tecnologie che permettono di non acquistare più l’azoto, ma produrlo autonomamente presso il proprio stabilimento.

Tutto ciò che serve è un generatore di azoto collegato a una fonte di aria compressa secca, che separa le molecole di azoto da quelle di ossigeno all’interno dell’aria compressa. La modalità non-stop permette un’etichettatura continua dei prodotti in quanto la logica del sistema non appena rileva l’imminente fine del rotolo etichette su una testa etichettatrice, automaticamente la inibisce e attiva la sua corrispettiva permettendo all’operatore di sostituire il rotolo etichette dove questo si è esaurito senza interrompere il ciclo di etichettatura. I prodotti, viaggiando sul convogliatore, vengono accolti da 2 coclee che li trasportano e distanziano all’interno della macchina dove un contro tappeto superiore li mantiene stabili durante l’etichettatura. Per la gestione di tutti i parametri e dei componenti del sistema è presente uno schermo touch HMI da 7 pollici che garantisce un ottimo compromesso tra compattezza e leggibilità. mode to guarantee a throughput of around 10,000 products per hour.

The system’s non-stop operation allows for continuous product labelling, because as soon as the system logic detects that the label reel is running out on one labelling head, it automatically switches to the other, allowing the operator to change the label reel without interrupting the labelling cycle. As they travel along the conveyor, the products encounter two screws which transport them and space them out inside the machine, where an overhead belt holds them steady during labelling. A 7” touchscreen HMI allows all system parameters and components to be managed and offers an excellent compromise between size and legibility. Rounding off the system are two optical safety barriers installed before the screws (one on each side) which stop the system in the event that a foreign object crosses into the danger area identified by the protective structure.

CHINAPLAS ritorna a Shanghai con una partecipazione da record di oltre 320.000 visitatori

opo una pausa di sei anni, CHINAPLAS 2024 ha fatto il suo ritorno trionfale a Shanghai e chiuso un’edizione strepitosa lo scorso 26 aprile al National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC), Hongqiao, Shanghai. Il grande ritorno a Shanghai ha attirato immediatamente l’attenzione delle industrie globali della plastica e della gomma con le sue dimensioni e fascino straordinario.

La fiera non solo ha registrato un numero record di espositori, con 4.495 aziende partecipanti provenienti da 38 paesi e regioni, su uno spazio espositivo totale di oltre 380.000 metri quadrati, ma anche ha stabilito un nuovo record di presenze di visitatori.

Infatti, un totale di 321.879 visitatori provenienti da oltre 170 Paesi e regioni ha partecipato a questo mega evento, totalizzando un aumento del 29,67% rispetto alla precedente edizione del 2023 svoltasi a Shenzhen. Tra logo, il numero dei visitatori internazionali ha raggiunto 73.204, pari al 22,74% del totale, realizzando così una crescita totale del 157,50%, rispetto alla precedente edizione del 2023 di Shenzhen.

CHINAPLAS’s return to Shanghai with recordbreaking attendance of over 320,000 visitors

fter a six-year hiatus, CHINAPLAS 2024 made a glorious return to Shanghai and concluded successfully on April 26 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC), Hongqiao, Shanghai, PR China. The grand comeback to Shanghai immediately captured the attention of the global plastics and rubber industries with its immense scale and extraordinary appeal.

The exhibition not only achieved a record-breaking number of exhibitors, with 4,495 companies participating from 38 countries and regions, occupying total exhibition area of 380,000 sqm, but also set a new record for visitor attendance.

A total of 321,879 visitors from over 170 countries and regions attended the mega event, representing a 29.67% increase compared to the 2023 Shenzhen exhibition. La birra è la bevanda alcolica più apprezzata in Italia CGA by NIQ svela che la birra è la bevanda preferita dagli italiani, scelta dal 56% nel fuori casa

C

on l’avvicinarsi della stagione estiva CGA by NIQ analizza le preferenze di consumo di bevande degli italiani e svela che la birra è la bevanda alcolica più apprezzata nel Bel Paese, il 56% infatti la predilige nelle scelte di consumo fuori casa e il 26% si dichiara fedele ai marchi di birra più rinomati.

Tipi di birra, modalità di somministrazione e gradazione Secondo le indagini di CGA by NIQ, la birra made in Italy incontra il favore del 70% degli intervistati, la birra importata raggiunge quota 41% mentre il 37% sceglie la birra artigianale, con il 40% di tutti i volumi di birra proveniente da 10 principali macrobrand. Inoltre, analizzando gli andamenti e le quote di mercato per le 4 Aree NielsenIQ, la classifica delle top 5 birre cambia da regione a regione, indice del fatto che in Italia vi sono significative differenze nel modo di consumare la birra.

Tra gli stili di birra, la bionda è scelta dal 66% dei consumatori mentre il 26% degli italiani opta per le rosse. In merito alla modalità di somministrazione, più

della metà (56%) dei consumatori di birra preferisce il servizio alla spina, mentre il 42% sceglie le opzioni in bottiglia e solo il 2% quelle in lattina. Inoltre, tra gli italiani, il 42% sceglie una gradazione alcolica media mentre il 23% leggera, solo il 10% preferisce una alta gradazione.

L’attenzione degli italiani ad un consumo consapevole Le analisi di CGA by NIQ rivelano anche una crescente tendenza alla moderazione, con il 64% dei consumatori di birra italiani che intende disciplinare il proprio consumo di alcol nei prossimi 12 mesi.

La maggior attenzione ad un consumo responsabile da parte degli italiani sottolinea una più alta consapevolezza del benessere psicofisico e comporta una dinamicità nell’offerta. I produttori, infatti, devono innovarsi per adattarsi all’evoluzione delle preferenze dei consumatori e salvaguardare le quote di mercato offrendo proattivamente alternative che incontrano la tendenza alla moderazione, comprese le opzioni senza e a basso contenuto alcolico.

Tetra Pak per un mondo senza fame Come le soluzioni di trattamento e confezionamento alimentare possono migliorare l’accesso ad alimenti sicuri e nutrienti

L

a sicurezza alimentare rappresenta un tema centrale a livello globale e costituisce il cuore dell’Obiettivo di Sviluppo Sostenibile2 dell’ONU, il quale mira a porre fine alla fame nel mondo nel contesto dell’Agenda 2030. Conflitti, eventi climatici estremi e flessioni economiche rendono difficile il raggiungimento di questo obiettivo. È, pertanto, essenziale creare dei sistemi alimentari più resilienti e, in questo senso, i principali player del settore possono offrire un contributo significativo. Soluzioni di trattamento e confezionamento innovative possono, infatti, favorire l’accesso ad alimenti sicuri e nutrienti.

Più in dettaglio, la FAO identifica quattro pilastri che devono essere garantiti affinché sia possibile raggiungere la sicurezza alimentare, ovvero: disponibilità, accesso, utilizzo e stabilità. È proprio in riferimento al secondo pilastro che si inserisce l’impegno di Tetra Pak, la cui tecnologia asettica può migliorare la qualità e la sicurezza degli alimenti a temperatura ambiente, facilitando lo stoccaggio e la distribuzione, anche in zone remote. Un aspetto particolarmente importante se si considera che nel 2022, 2,4 miliardi di persone hanno avuto difficoltà ad accedere regolarmente ad una quantità sufficiente di alimenti e che le proiezioni al 2030 indicano che quasi 600 milioni di persone soffriranno di sottonutrizione cronica. [1] Per affrontare questa sfida, Tetra Pak punta ad assicurare i più elevati standard di sicurezza alimentare, tenendo conto anche della necessità di potenziare le infrastrutture di riciclo attraverso la collaborazione con partner di rilievo lungo tutta la catena del valore.

Il trattamento e il confezionamento asettici apportano considerevoli benefici quando si tratta di conservare gli alimenti deperibili e garantirne la qualità e le proprietà nutritive fino a oltre sei mesi. Queste tecnologie consentono, infatti, di estendere la vita a scaffale degli alimenti, proteggendoli dal deterioramento, senza necessità di refrigerazione e conservanti.

In questo modo, alimenti quali il latte, i succhi e le alternative a base vegetale risultano accessibili anche a consumatori in aree geografiche molto distanti e nelle regioni in cui non sono presenti infrastrutture adatte a supportare la catena del freddo.

Inoltre, riuscire a garantire la sicurezza di questa

tipologia di alimenti per periodi più lunghi significa anche ridurre il rischio di ulteriori sprechi alimentari.

In aggiunta, Tetra Pak investe a livello globale circa 100 milioni di euro all’anno in ricerca e sviluppo con l’obiettivo di aumentare ulteriormente la percentuale di materiali rinnovabili e il contenuto a base di carta nelle confezioni in cartone asettico. Tetra Pak for a world free of hunger How food processing and packaging solutions can improve access to safe and nutritious food

F

ood safety is a crucial topic at global level and is the core of FAO’s Sustainable Development Goal 2 that aims to ending hunger in the world by 2030. Wars, extreme weather conditions, and economic downfalls make this goal difficult to achieve. It is therefore essential to create more resilient food systems and, to this regard, the main players of the sector can offer a significant support. Innovative processing and packaging solutions can favour access to safe and nutritious food.

In detail, FAO has selected four pillars that have to be ensured for food security to be achieved, namely: Availability, access, utilisation, and stability. It is precisely with reference to the second pillar that Tetra Pak’s commitment fits in. Its aseptic technology can improve food quality and safety at room temperature, thus making storage and distribution, also in far-off areas, easier. That’s a particularly relevant aspect if we

consider that in 2022, 2,4 billion people had difficulty accessing sufficient food on a regular basis and that projections to 2030 show that nearly 600 million people will suffer from chronic undernourishment [1].

To tackle this challenge, Tetra Pak aims at guaranteeing higher food safety standards, also taking into consideration the need to develop recycling facilities by cooperating with relevant partners along the entire value chain. Aseptic food process and packaging bring considerable benefits when it comes to preserving perishable food and granting their quality and nutritional properties for up to +6 months. These technologies make it possible to extend the shelf-life of foods, protecting them from deterioration, without the need for refrigeration or preservatives.

In this way, foods such as milk, juices, and plant-based alternatives can be available also to consumers in considerable far-off locations and regions where there are no suitable infrastructures to support the cold chain. In addition, being able to guarantee the safety of this type of foods for longer periods also means reducing the risk of further food waste.

a dodicesima edizione della fiera ha registrato una significativa crescita e richiamato l’attenzione delle imprese sulle migliori tecnologie per il sistema produttivo, con percorsi di eccellenza legati a intelligenza artificiale, IT/ IIoT, robotica, meccatronica, additive manufacturing, sostenibilità. Larga partecipazione di pubblico anche agli eventi e ai convegni. In plenaria di apertura Raffaele Spallone, Dirigente divisione digitalizzazione delle imprese e analisi dei settori produttivi MIMIT, ha sottolineato come il Piano Transizione 5.0 possa rappresentare un’opportunità per il Paese, puntando sui beni digitali per una riduzione dei consumi e una produzione più sostenibile e competitiva. All’interno dell’area Education, dove studenti e studentesse si sono appassionati alle tecnologie esposte, è intervenuta anche Anna Brancaccio, Dirigente Ministero dell’Istruzione e del Merito.

Presentata la seconda edizione di Position Paper “Verso una Trasformazione Digitale Umano-Centrica”, a cura del Comitato Scientifico della manifestazione, che intende offrire oltre a una visione generale, anche alcuni approfondimenti specifici relativi all’evoluzione tecnologica di Industria 4.0 e 5.0.

Toward an Industry 5.0, sustainable and human-centred future SPS Italia - the unmissable annual event for the Italian manufacturing industry – records 40,133 visitors

T

he twelfth edition of SPS Italia saw a significant uptick in numbers with a display of cuttingedge manufacturing technologies ranging from artificial intelligence, IT/IIoT, robotics and mechatronics to additive manufacturing and sustainability. The events and talks of the fair were also packed with attendees. Speaking at the inaugural plenary meeting, Raffaele Spallone, Director of the Business Digitalization and Productive Sector Analysis Division at MIMIT, highlighted the potential of the Transition Plan 5.0 to transform the country by concentrating effort on the development of digital goods and the reduction of consumption, thereby improving the sustainability and competitiveness of Italian manufacturing. In the Education Area of the Fair, Anna Brancaccio, Director, Ministry of Education and Merit, addressed an audience that included students interested in and excited about the technologies on show.

The Fair included a presentation of the second edition of a position paper titled “Towards a Human-Centric Digital Transformation,” authored by the Scientific Committee of the show. The paper offers a general overview of the state of play as well as a number of specific insights into the technological changes of Industry 4.0 and 5.0.
