RED RAIDERS OPEN SECOND HALF OF BIG 12 PLAY AGAINST WEST VIRGINIA Texas Tech opens the second half of Big 12 play Saturday evening when the Red Raiders host West Virginia at 6 p.m. in the United Spirit Arena. INSIDE THE WEST VIRGINIA SERIES West Virginia will be making its first ever trip to Lubbock this weekend as the Red Raiders and Mountaineers will be meeting for the fourth time in history. Tech took a 3-1 victory in the first Big 12 match between the two schools earlier this year to improve to 3-0 all-time against the Mountaineers. Prior to this year, the two schools had not met on the volleyball court since Sept. 22, 1995, when Tech claimed a 3-1 victory in Morgantown. The Red Raiders also swept West Virginia, 3-0, in their first ever meeting on Sept. 19, 1985.

Meghan Stacy came off the bench to deliver a match-high 19 kills last Saturday at 14th-ranked Kansas State. The performance marked a career high in kills for Stacy, who had previously connected on 16 on Sept. 14 this year againt Houston Baptist. In addition to her offense, Stacy also added a career-high three aces, marking the fourth time a Red Raider had recorded three or more in a match this year. The freshman also notched three blocks and three digs to go along with a .255 hitting percentage. She comes into this weekend third on the team with 160 kills off 460 attempts, second-most among Tech players. The Ozark, Mo. native has also totaled four double-doubles this weekend and 111 digs this season as she is one of five Red Raiders to reach the 100-dig mark so far.
