RED RAIDERS HEAD TO OKLAHOMA STATE INVITATIONAL Texas Tech, off to its best start to a season in school history, will look to continue its undefeated run this weekend at the Oklahoma State Invitational where the Red Raiders will face both Tulsa and Memphis at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex. Tech will open the tournament with a 5 p.m. kickoff Friday against Tulsa before closing the trip with a 1 p.m. start Sunday against Memphis.

RED RAIDERS KNOCK OFF ANOTHER RANKED OPPONENT IN NO. 11 CAL Texas Tech defeated its second ranked opponent of the season last Friday when the Red Raiders traveled to down No. 11 California, 1-0, last Friday in Berkeley. Janine Beckie connected on the game-winning goal against the Golden Bears, heading in an Alli Murphy corner kick with just 32 seconds remaining in double overtime. Tech previously topped then-No. 11 Notre Dame, 2-1, on Aug. 29 this year, marking the highest-ranked opponent the Red Raiders have ever defeated on the road. Tech is now 4-2 all-time against ranked non-conference opponents under eighth-year head coach Tom Stone. 5-8 • F • JR Beckie, the reigning ESPNW National Player of the Week and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, scored two goals last weekend in victories over California and Abilene Christian. She now has 13 game-winning goals, the most for a Red Raider in school history.

5-10 • GK • SO Watson was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday following her pair of shutouts last weekend against No. 11 California and Abilene Christian. Watson already has four shutouts this season iand ranks among top-15 nationally in goals against average.
JAELENE HINKLE 5-4 • D • SR Hinkle, a MAC Hermann Trophy candidate along with Beckie, leads a Texas Tech defense that has recorded shutouts in each of its last three contests. Tech’s shutout at No. 11 Cal last weekend earned Hinkle a mention on the collegesoccer.360 weekly honor roll.
