RED RAIDERS LOOK TO SNAP LOSING SKID AGAINST BAYLOR Texas Tech faces its most difficult test of the season on Saturday when the Red Raiders take on the Baylor Bears inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington. If the Red Raiders hope to snap their three-game losing skid, they will have to do it against a Baylor team that is ranked in the Top 5 and in second place in the Big 12 Conference standings. Texas Tech’s 49-26 setback to Kansas State on Saturday dropped the Red Raiders from the national rankings and has them holding on to fifth place in the league standings - just ahead of the surging Wildcats. The game will be televised nationally on FOX and will mark Tech’s third appearance on the network this season. The Texas Tech Sports Network will have the radio call live across 33 affiliates in Texas and Eastern New Mexico. Brian Jensen (play-by-play), John Harris (analyst) and Chris Level (sideline) will have the call from AT&T Stadium.

TEXAS TECH AND BAYLOR Texas Tech and Baylor will be meeting for the 72nd time on Saturday evening. The series with Baylor is the longest played in school history and the Red Raiders hold the advantage, 36-34-1 • Baylor has won the last two games in the series as the Bears escaped with a 52-45 overtime win last season and a commanding 66-42 victory over the Red Raiders in 2011. • Baylor’s win over Texas Tech in 2011 snapped a streak of 15 consecutive wins in the series by the Red Raiders. • In Big 12 play, Texas Tech holds a 15-2 advantage against the Bears. • Baylor Head Coach Art Briles is a 1979 Texas Tech graduate and was an assistant coach on Mike Leach’s staff from 2000-02. TEXAS TECH IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS THIS SEASON • Texas Tech debuted in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll at No. 25 on Sept. 15 following a win over TCU. The AP ranking in the fourth week of the season is the earliest debut for the Red Raiders since a No. 12 preseason ranking in 2008. Texas Tech dropped out of the poll on Nov. 10, following a 49-26 loss to Kansas State. • Texas Tech debuted in the USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll at No. 25 on Sept. 22 following a win over Texas State. Texas Tech dropped out of the poll on Nov. 10, following a 49-26 loss to Kansas State. • First-year head coach Kliff Kingsbury got his team ranked after just three games and that marks a first in school history. Prior to Kingsbury, the previous mark was five games by Jim Carlen in 1970. Carlen’s squad defeated Texas A&M 21-7 in College Station on Oct. 10, 1970, and then appeared in the AP Poll at No. 17 on Oct. 12. The A&M win was Carlen’s fifth game as the head coach of the Red Raiders.
