LONE STAR PRIDE AT STAKE ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON 2012 BIG 12 STANDINGS The battle for Lone Star State supremacy is at stake on Saturday afterSOUTH CONF OVERALL STK noon inside Jones AT&T Stadium as the Texas Tech Red Raiders and Texas 5-0 8-0 W8 Longhorns meet in an important Big 12 Conference contest. Saturday’s Oklahoma St. Texas 3-2 6-2 W2 game will kick off at 2:30 p.m. and will be televised regionally on ABC Texas Tech 3-2 6-2 L1 with a reverse national mirror on ESPN2. Fans that don’t get the game West Virginia 2-2 5-2 L2 on their local ABC affiliate will be able to watch on ESPN2 or WatchESPN. Iowa State 2-3 5-3 W1 com. THE MATCH-UP The Texas Tech-Texas rivalry will be played out for the 61st time on Saturday afternoon inside Jones AT&T Stadium. Texas holds a commanding 45-15 lead in the all-time series and has won the last three contests. Texas Tech and Texas will be meeting for the fourth time on Nov. 3, where the Longhorns hold a 3-0 record all-time against the Red Raiders on that date. Texas Tech will be seeking its first win over Texas since Nov. 1, 2008, when Michael Crabtree hauled in a last second touchdown catch to lift the Red Raiders to a stunning 3933 win over the then top-ranked Longhorns. Saturday will mark the first time since that 2008 game that both teams enter the contest ranked in the Top 25.
