THE MATCH-UP Texas Tech and Oklahoma will be meeting for the 20th time on Saturday and for the 17th consecutive year as members of the Big 12 Conference. Oklahoma leads the all-time series 13-6. Texas Tech won last season’s meeting in Norman as the Red Raiders snapped the Sooners’ NCAA record 39-game home win streak with a 41-38 victory. Texas Tech has won the last three meetings against the Sooners in Lubbock dating back to a last second touchdown run by Taurean Henderson in 2005. Since Bob Stoops took over the OU program in 1999, the Red Raiders have defeated the Sooners five times during that stretch. Only Texas has been able to match Tech’s success against Stoops’ Sooners as the Longhorns have also compiled five wins. Saturday’s game will mark the earliest match-up between these two teams since 2004, when they played on Oct. 2.
